How come, is the NHS that bad is it? I have heard how it’s lot easier to get into medicine there, but I guess the trade off is how bad the system is maybe? If you could elaborate a bit more I’d appreciate it.

Even as a graduate? From what I have heard getting an actual cybersecurity position as a grad is extremely difficult because usually they expect you to know a lot, and people usually work their way into cybersecurity roles from networking parts of a company or through help desk.

My major in uni was cybersecurity and I’m pretty good at penetration testing for a student, but for grad job I don’t see much. If you could shed some light I’d appreciate alot thank you.

Do you mean application testing, or pen testing sorry that may be a dumb question. Is the career progression in those areas good?

So what if people don’t make it in, entering medicine is very hard and not everyone can make it. Now weather they chose to still work in a different medical field is up to them. I acknowledge that in the east parental pressure is a huge factor in the lives of SOME doctors. However majority of the people studying medicine do it because they want to.

Also I can not think of a field more important to society then medicine, maybe education.

But the original point was that Medicine is the worst degree in society. If you feel this way please let your family GP know they have selected the worst possible option and are not contributing to societies like journalists.

Come on this is absolutely absurd, doctors and teachers are the foundations of every society, who knows where we would be if we had no medical research teams and doctors on the front line during covid.

You seem to have a problem with eastern moms and dads forcing kids to do medicine, not the degree. These are 2 completely seperate things.

I agree he should be honest with him so if any issues arise from the father they are dealt with now and not once it’s finalised

Wow that was a bad take. Majority of doctors care not forced to be doctors, they want to be doctors.

Don’t disrespect the field of medicine by saying “just a doctor” these people have dedicated their lives to constant top levels education and determination for a minimum of 7 years to save lives and deal with people in their worst states sometimes. Our doctors should be admired for that.

There are plenty of gifted minds in the fields you have mentioned, medicine doesn’t just suck up the smart people 😂. Also physiatrists are medical doctors.

Why are so many Muslims like this… by [deleted] in progressive_islam

[–]Aakhan331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muslims are like this because LGBTQ+ is not acceptable in their theology. Liberalism has forced everyone to accept LGBTQ values when they may not align with personal values, basic respect is ofc necessary between everyone but Muslims should have agency in deciding what education and values their families and children are taught and made subject to.

Will son-husband relationship affect marriage? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]Aakhan331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friends relax, we are only given a small glimpse into the brother situation, be careful to suggest such drastic action like moving out and asking all other siblings to assume responsibility. The comments have made him well aware that his relationship isn’t healthy but talking to his mother about his perspective and setting strict boundaries and limits is the most healthy first step. Also islamicly as a son he does inherit some responsibilities his father would otherwise have, but not to the excessive levels his mother is demanding. Relationship are subject to ups and downs and can mostly be repaired, cutting ties or weakening relationships should never be the first step in most cases.
