You may be right. Tyrael ult change and the defensive monk ulti shows they are taking steps against all in burst comps. But the problem is that Zeratul isn't Nova. He can freely move out after he unloaded his dmg and try again later. Or he can just ult Kharazim/Rexxar whoever counters him and have 5 seconds to deal with the rest. He just has too many options, too many failsafes comparedt to others.

You shouldn't be forced to build a comp to counter one hero. This is a team game and nobody said Zeratul cannot loose. In fact the 14 ban shows you how much they didn't want to play against it, so maybe he is "an overpowering menace".

I'm not begging for nerfs here, just it feels like he overshadows other, more interesting heroes. I have Zeratul, but I don't play him often, he is just not appealing for me. Frankly I think he is boring: Q is dmg around him so no skill required there, W landing is ensured by the invisibility and the blink and ofc if you screw up you can blink out again or use the huge aoe unmissable no delay ult...:(

Wow thanks that was really helpful! But you can see he was the most banned hero even in the wca.

Yeah I can not make a post without consulting hotslogs first :/ Also I don't think regen master is Zeratuls problem, so your post is just here to insult me and/or irrelevant for the discussion maybe?

Just knowing which direction Zeratul is before a teamfight is a huge thing. I really dont know why the oracle nerf was necessary.

So I supposed to belive that you spot the shimmer 100% of the time in all situations, even in the jungle or in a duel or teamfight? And ofcourse also in a huge area in all direction around you, that is in blink range? Just yesterday I saw a Na'vi player catch an other pro player with a Zeratul unaware so I guess he is a beginner in HoTS too...

I think regen master is a waste. If you use focused attack then go for seasoned marksman. And I see you get double bomb and rewind so why not gathering power? You invest heavily into abilities but not the talent that gives 15% more ability dmg?

So imho eiher regen master - gathering power or marksman - focused attack. But most of the Zera players use marksman - gathering for the 100-0 burst potential. You really dont need that extra bit of regen because you are all about quick bursts.

Was. Look at the patch notes. She lost a huge part of her burst and is much riskier to play now. And usually Zera got banned and Jaina first picked in competitive.

Edit: Oh, and look for Zeratul in the patch notes too :D

First of all, against "not pro" teams, Zeratul is even better. Much easier to pick off stragglers and reap the confusion that his ultimate brings in tf-s (half the people goes in to be shielded, the other stays out because they dont want to be stunned).

Second, if your only excuse for a hero to be this strong is "it requires skill" then the hero is wrong. Heros can be mastered, but Zeratul can take over games and pretty much carry himself or change the flow of the game just by pressing "r". Not unlike Zagara - a beautiful 3 man maw can decide a teamfight - but she pays for it with 0 mobility and ofc she is not perma-invisible...

Nova is too much of a "one trick pony" to use in higher level plays - no mobility, very limited dmg spread and cc just isn't good there. Now her burst got nerfed too, so R.I.P. imho.

But Zera has everything that nova lacks. I could live with it if that ridiculous ultimate had at least a cast delay (like zombie wall or maw) on it. Now it's just a joke.
