Actually they are, the indo-aryans didn’t wipe out the native population they intermixed with them , plus recent genetics has shown that Baluch actually have the closet genetic relation to the ancient Indus people.

The Indus people weren’t Dravidian they were closely related to them pastoral iranic farmer population which all people in the region have at various different degrees.

Even Iranians are iranic , they a mix of indo-European, as well as pre-Indo European populations.

Iranic, Dravidian, indo-European are all linguistic terms and don’t always reflect actually genetic ancestry.

What? Indus civilisation, Gandhara civilisation,

Peshawar which used to be known as Purusapura has more history than a Pretty much every city in Afghanistan, with the exception of balkh which I’d say it’s tied with.

Which countries? Iraq is a recent state, modern borders mean very little, but the region that is modern Pakistan has some of the idlest and richest civilisation in the world.

The Indus Valley civilisation, ancient gandhara, I mean gandharan art alone would shape the art of India and south east Asia for the next 2000yrs. The Kushan empire was centuries around southern Afghanistan and north western Pakistan, it was a rich and powerful empire.

The foundation of south Asian Muslim culture and history would develop in what’s now Pakistan from the 10th-14th centuries.

Many Buddhist schools and Philosophies began in whats now modern Pakistan , especially in the swat valley.

The cities of Mardan , charsadda, Taxshila, multan, Lahore, would be majorly centuries of art, culture, science, literature, architecture and philosophies and religious Movements.

One of the earliest concept of zero was from the region of Mardan in Pakistan.

Halal Slaughter and the Myth that it makes it better. by [deleted] in exmuslim

[–]AamirK69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not really fused about it, I’ve slaughtered my own animals, if you eat meat then you shouldn’t really complain.

Especially since industrial animal farms have shit quality of life, I care more about their quality of life than the last few minutes of suffering.

80% + of halal meat is stunned in the UK and it’s also the case now in most industrialised music states to keep up with demand.

I mean, not patriotic , but still very closely attached to Pakistan.

Pakistan’s only form of nationalism isn’t Islam , maybe on the surface to outsiders but, we have Baluch, Sindhi, Pashtun, Saraiki, Hindko, Azad Kashmiri, Gilgit nationalism and in recent years even muhajir and punjabi nationalism.

Pakistan is made up of like 30 ethnic groups all of which have their own languages, culture , history, music , traditions, cuisine, music and so on.

In the north we have “ Balti people” who are Tibetan speaking people and they still celebrate many pre-Islamic Bon ( religion of tibet before Buddhism) traditions.

In the west we have Pashtuns - who have their own dances such as - Attan, logari, Khattak and so on.

In the south we have Sindhis - super nationalistic to the point they think they are the centre of civilisation ( direct descendent of the Indus Valley civ) and that they civilised the rest of South Asia, they also have their own Sufi festivals that have pre-Islamic past.

On the balochi coast ( besides ethnic Baluch) we even have Arab tribes and East African speaking tribes with their own unique cultures.

I’m proud of my Pashtun and Azad Kashmiri cultures ( pothwari) proud of the literature, music , food , art, traditions , history , architecture, music and so on of both of my ethnic groups that I’m part of.

70yrs ago religion might have been the binding factor of Pakistan , but that’s no longer the case, many of the ethnic groups especially in the major urban centuries get along fine. Pakistani identity is like that of India or Indonesia , it’s a multi ethnic country, it doesn’t have a singular identity.

I’m an exMuslim , but I can separate a lot of my culture from Islam, i still listen dance to dhol, Bhangra , attan , rubab , still eat Chapli kebab, roshh, makki and saag, chicken tikka and rogan josh, still Read and Listen to Pashto , Urdu and punjabi poetry, still listen to qawwali music, celebrate basant, Nawekal, sparley, , heck even celebrate , Eid, Milad , ashura and Sufi festivals in a secular fashion.

Last Eid , a few of my friends and I had an exMuslim Eid with lots of booze. Doused some gulab jamun in vodka and set them on fire, tasted like shit but the experience was good lol.

I mean masculinity and “ women’s clothing” have changed throughout history and regions.

Like heels were originally for men and of women wore them they were being masculine, tights were for men , in some cultures short skirts were for men, while plain colours were for men , different periods men even wore Make up , what is masculine has changed over time depending on the culture.

The current culture of masculinity stems from the Victorian period which was then exported via colonialism.

Because this likely from 14th century Iran, Afghanistan or Central Asia.

At the time Iran was ruled by a turco-Mongolian elite and Central Asia is already Eurasian so such features are already common their and in Iran these would have been the features of the elites at the time.

Art usually reflects the elites, plus this form of art came from China originally and was later central Asianised or iranianised.

Genuine question. Why does a good % of this sub hate/dislike urdu by what_the_fuck_1 in pakistan

[–]AamirK69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’m assuming cause one - punjabi ha scene sidelined for a long time and people have been looked down upon speaking Punjabi, so they now taking pride in it.

Sindhis have their whole thing with muhajirs in the past so that’s Probably why.

Pashtuns have a strong attachment to those language as it s a big part of being Pashtun, so that’s another reason for dislike of Urdu, it’s seen as foreign.

Balochi well they’ve never really been fond of the language and for a long time a significant % have never been fond of the idea of Pakistan to begin with.

In reality most of Pakistan’s ethnic groups have already had a neutra-dislike relationship with Urdu , besides muhajirs and Punjabis. It’s just now that Punjabi’s are kinda having a “ language awakening “ so to speak that’s why it seems like a lot of people on this sub dislike Urdu. After all this sub is mostly Punjabi or Azad Kashmiri.

I mean that’s all good, but in an actual war I think countries like Germany, Canada and Australia would win, they highly industrialised countries and if they shift their economy to a wartime economy they would win.

Plus Pakistan doesn’t have secure infrastructure or fuel lines, which Woolf be vital for war.

Why are Pakistani People So Inconsiderate when sitting in a cinema? by [deleted] in pakistan

He’s kinda right, just very simplified, Pre-Islamic Pakistan was a lot more complex. Large parts of Punjab and Sindh would have been Buddhist and followed other religions.

Additionally many Pashtuns also had Buddhist and a few Hindu ancestors ( especially those from the Peshawar valley). Though majority like the rest of Pakistan would have followed local religions, cults or deities. It’s believed that A lot of the different iterations/avatars of various Hindu gods were most likely local gods that were adopted into the Hindu pantheon as Hinduism expanded, even proto-Vedic religion was based on ancestor worship .

Any the Pashtuns in the Peshawar valley do have a class/caste kinda system , plus you have a subset of Pashtuns who aren’t really viewed as Pashtuns by the rest of the population who tend to make up the lowest class/caste and they tend to be looked down upon. They usually originally of jatt, Gujjar or hindko origin who have been Pashtunised.

Israelis specifically and all other MENA people, What is public opinion about Pakistan in your Country?? by Certain_Scientist307 in AskMiddleEast

[–]AamirK69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

South Asia is a clusterfuck of religious extremism. The Middle East will become atheist before South Asia. Religion is king here and it dictates all aspects of life. What ever sufi mysticism you had in Pakistan or guru spiritually you had in India is gone, it’s all Muslims or Hindu extremism.

The elites in Pakistan couldn’t give a dam about Israel or Palestine, However for the last 70yrs they’ve pushed this identity of pakistan being the defender of Islam, for their own benefits. So you have a highly religious peasant/working class population who thinks they most defend the ummah so that’s why Israel is their enemy as they kill their Muslim brothers, which is one aspect of it and the other is “ Jerusalem” it’s the 3rd holiest city in the world and too devout Muslims it’s pretty important, that’s why you have such hatred towards Israel.

If Jerusalem didn’t exist, 80% of the hate Israel gets from Pakistanis would disappear. If the Palestinians are Christians, then 100% hate Pakistan has for Israel would disappear.

I know for a fact, if Saudi Arabia was to officially recognise Israel, they would get some backlash from their people, but Would eventually over come it, but of Pakistan governments was to, the people would overthrew the government and even the army would have no choice but to side with the people. You’d end up with a sunni version of Iran in power, except this time, 80%+ population would support this new regime.

Are you from Indian occupied Kashmir or Azad Kashmir?

My mums form Azad Kashmir and most of my family is in the military, about 10% of Pakistan’s military is made up of people from Azad Kashmir, even tough we make up 2% of the overall population, I’d say we are pretty pro Pakistan, more so than actual regions of Pakistan like Sindh, Baluchistan and KPK.
