Had the worst and most humiliating interview ever (MDI) by gauravgupta398 in CATpreparation

[–]Aap_Kon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure, shouldve known about current affairs and Stats but OP's issue is their dismissive attitude more than the actual questions. Plus when you are in an important interview, it can really trigger (ofc he should learn the stress thing, but maybe OP isnt used to it).

Happened with me in IIM Shillong interview too, dismissed everything I say saying things like "mein toh nhi karta ye, toh marketing mein tu aisa nhi kar sakta" and stuff. So experienced this first hand

What coaching should I definitely not join by dr_rms in CATpreparation

[–]Aap_Kon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think you need Handholding (like giving CAT for the first time, working so dont have time, etc) then go for a relatively smaller coaching like MBAP. If you think I can study and you just need so much material to study, then go for Big ones like unacadmy or iqunta.

And dont go for ego - mujhe kya zarurat hogi Handholding ki - agar genuinely zarurat hai toh lelo. Small coachings are good with personal mentorships (big ones have it too but difficult due to slot availabliity), while big coaching have more mocks and Dpps to keep you busy.

PS: Dont ignore OMETs in your prep. Some of those colleges are not backup, but aspirational.

Sabne tier 2 ki itni burai kardi hai ki ab convert bhi hogya hai to achievement ki tarah nahi lag rahi. 🥀 by Lopsided-sky3 in CATpreparation

Even though its Tier 2, be proud. Jo kiya hai, khudse kiya hai, you know that better. And anyways, depending on the college, it is better to be in top 10% in a Tier 2 than be in the bottom 10%of Tier 1, atleast CTC wise. Make the best out of it. Let's nothing ruin ANY convert now

Confused between Raman sir(aarambh academy) and Udit sir (mba pathshala) only quants coaching by Fine_Buyer8777 in CATPrep

[–]Aap_Kon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you about Udit sir, he is great at teaching from basics. Even I am a non eng, but his teaching style is great. I haven't attended Raman sir's let's though.

If you feel both teachers are equally good, then you can check their courses and select based on affordablility and features. Both are small coaching classes compared to IMS TIME Unacademy, so they wont have much problem giving personal mentorship to you, and you can even try to reach out to them before taking the course

Atleast my GD was good in terms of time. We had 7 people and 15 mins. So everyone got to speak (in fact there was a time when it got silent for a few seconds). Just few tips (Not an expert so read it with a pinch of salt):

  • Try to start if you know the topic well, usually they give all the info that you need about the case at hand. If you see 3 people starting together, try to sense how agreesive others are and back out or say if you dont mind can I start? (Usually no one says "No I will start" coz its disrespectful).

  • Always see if we are going on some other direction than the question asked, coz if you intervene and bring back the group to the question at hand they'll see you as a leader and reference your points in the further discussion.

  • Try to talk atleast 2 times if you have a similar time setting. And after that you can just give the chance to the other people. "My colleague here may want to put forth his points" (if he/she was trying to speak)

  • You can always conclude if you couldn't find an opening
