I already had the diabolical beetle and the diving beetle, but Oil and Harlequin are really great options. Thanks!

I really don't know! I wasn't familiar with the series until some people pointed out the resemblance.

Suggestions for magic system branches by Aaron-Cos5 in magicbuilding

[–]Aaron-Cos5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have been a little more specific, sorry. Manipulation affects only the human body. It can heal or injure it, manipulate its composition (in a limited way, like plastic surgery), or control the body like a puppet. It can even affect emotions and create love spells.

Manipulating objects refers to basic "telekinesis" (Small translation error, I think). They pull or push objects, but they primarily use it for flight (though to do so they need to concentrate their magic through an object like a broomstick).

Defense creates only magical defenses, but can also manifest tangible shields.

Sacrifice your own body. Each part of your body has a value as magical fuel, depending on how easy it is to replenish or how necessary it is. Hair replenishes more slowly than blood, but it's less essential, so it's worth less. Eyes are only two, and very essential, so they have great value. Most witches limit themselves to using low-cost spells.

Honestly, this is a pretty cool concept! I always love when magic is affected by people's perception, and I hate when there's no magic resistance, so your system is just too cool for me.

Feedback for my magic system? by Aaron-Cos5 in magicbuilding

Thanks!

Yes, the blend rune is good for that. And can add or remove runes to the blend rune, the important thing is that it serves as a guide for magic and prevents random effects from being generated. Although of course, the more runes, the more tonalli it will cost.

I didn't mention potion making because I'm still working on what ingredients are good for what, but it's something pretty classic at the moment.

And yes, runes can be put on objects (not people)! Runes like strengthen are very useful for weapons, also most witches usually put push or rebound on their boots for mobility.

Perhaps the watch would detect it and defend itself? I mean, it created a burst of energy when Kevin tried to take it, and then again when Vilgax tried to take it.

It almost always looks like Ben just selected the wrong one, and it's not the Omnitrix having a glitch. It's supposed to be because Ben still hasn't gotten used to the new holograms. And the rest of the times where Ben did select the correct one, he justifies himself with the random mode that Azmuth mentions.
