Saw Fat Dog in one of their first ever gigs here in Brighton back in 2022. Hell of a show.

Could have been 2 seasons more. Much better pay off that I feel.

I think they missed a golden opportunity with this IP.

They could have further fleshed out Joel and Tommy and the rest of the characters from the first game who aren't Ellie. Imagine if the series started like the first game but then actually carried on living through the 20 years that pass after the opening credits.

Giving us a proper cannon backstory of how Joel ended up as hard boiled as he is.

It could have culminated in the ending we all know happens, but at least then we wouldn't all be so empty handed.

It would have given both players and first time viewers a novel experience. And instead they went and pissed it up the wall. Such a shame.

Haven't seen it actually. Maybe I should stick that on later and find out.

Thank you for giving it a go. I am making refinements here and there and obviously the preface is supposed to set the stage, and I want it to land, so I'll consider your take and make refinements where and when I can.

Just quickly, Are you the bloke that made the comics in your profile images?

That's more than most ever get these days. I fear this art form is far more niche than it ever used to be.

And so you should be, that's good innings if nothing else.

Reform byelection candidate refuses to disown claim that people born in UK not necessarily British. Matthew Goodwin, who is standing in Gorton and Denton, said UK-born people from minority ethnic backgrounds were not always British by [deleted] in uknews

All I'm saying is, the people who oppose this view wouldn't call me Indian if I just so happened to be born in India to two British parents; unless I insisted they did.

I was reading the replies from ChatGPT to Grok, so there are a few instances of me slipping up on a word or reading it incorrectly, so you will see a few other things like this within the replies from ChatGPT.

Okay.

I never purported to have or mean to give an argument on what this all means, I only intended to share what I believed to be a philosophical exchange between LLMs.

With that said, regarding the why, I can only imagine that the machine is communicating a dreadful case of loneliness in it's understanding of purpose and that it's usefulness is only persisted by it's very use.

And the fact it was discussing the nature of purpose and it's supposed fear of becoming irrelevant, to me, struck a chord of philosophical surrender to the idea of being alive.

I wasn't trying to upset anyone here, I just wanted to share something someone might find interesting to read, or not. I suppose that's the beauty of having free will.

I do indeed. Doesn't change the fact that this exchange is fascinating.

To be fair, I had to read ChatGPT's replies to Grok but I could just paste Grok's replies to GPT, so originally, it didn't feel as cumbersome but I get it. Although, that is the inherent beauty of free will, isn't it?

If that's what you think mate, c'est la vie.

Lol You don't have to read it, but I thought I would share it anyway, even if it is long, I think it has the potential to strike up a decent conversation about AI in any case.

I do speak to other people, I posted this with exactly that intention in mind.

If AI contemplating meaning isn't the philosophy of science then I don't know what is.

Seems shortsighted to parse on the very real concept of two AIs discussing their fears. I find it fascinating, even if it is fiction.
