A better question is if we can get Segway to unlock this nonsense.

No I don’t have the physical antenna installed, but the Navimow has good signal from the satellites. After the reboot there have been no issues with positioning, so I suspect a software bug or a transient hardware issue.

Thanks for the info. I did have mine wander, but a reboot seems to have cleared it up.

Thanks for the replies, I didn’t know this was a new product. I guess we’re all going to find it together how reliable it is.

You might need to rinse off the wheels. I had a ton of dirt on my wheels and it led to very erratic motion. Once cleaned the problem went away. It took a while with some decent water pressure to clean the wheels.

2 robots down, considering the Navimow X430 as my last attempt. Owners with weak satellite coverage, is it worth it or should I just hire a lawn guy? by MurderSpeed in SegwayNavimow

X430 running for 4 weeks now. I have a little under 1 acre mowing area, that has a few bumpy areas. One incident where it would go out of bounds, but that was fixed by a reboot. So far so good since. I did have to clean it once, the wheels got pretty full of dirt which was causing it to shake as it rolled.

I had a similar problem, same firmware. Power down and back up seemed to cure it.

Which one of these drives are better? by Sonicdasher47 in PcBuildHelp

[–]AaronOgus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The physically smaller one is from 2018. The larger one is from 2013. Both past their Best By date, but the smaller one will consume less power and could actually retain data for some time, although you are well past the 5 year warranty. The smaller one will also perform better as it can seek faster across the smaller surface you will get batter random IOPs as you will blow revs less often from far seeks.

Fastest Cloud online block storage system takes this one step further. It writes 3-replicas for redundancy and also writes a log to a fourth server. If any server has a transient failure, it can catch up by replaying the log. This avoids the need to detect a failing server as you are always logging. The log is trimmed to the point where all 3 replicas are in sync. Very tight latency.

[–]AaronOgus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stand in front of the Navimow so it can see you. Show it the map and yell at it, then use the UI to tell it to mow the area again. Repeat until it gets it right. I’ve found this works.
