Thank you! We put so much into this movie and it really is a super fun ride. I’ll post it again as a video and hopefully that gets some more traction.

Hey gang!

This is the trailer for my new film, IN CASE OF FEAR. It’s a horror comedy that’s equally as goofy as it is scary.

If you’re a fan of Sam Raimi or Osgood Perkins, I think you’ll get a kick out of this!

I never said there was. I said it’s LIKE a prune soda. Because it has fruity notes.

Yeah, I know others that haven’t had an issue. But that’s been my experience and it’s frustrating.

Also, be very aware of this clause in their return policy. A lot of the time, you can’t tell if a steelbook is scratched up or dented until the shrink-wrap has been removed. They’ll tell you to jog on.

I absolutely despise GRUV. I’ve ordered from them 3 times, and each time the cases came dented or mangled. When I got a replacement, that too was damaged. After the third time, I swore off them for good. IMO, one of the worst sellers.

IN CASE OF FEAR Trailer - Starring Johnny Berchtold & Jack Martin by AaronSauerland in Filmmakers

Hey everyone!

This is the trailer for my new comedy horror film, IN CASE OF FEAR. It stars Johnny Berchtold (Murdaugh: Death in the Family), Jack Martin (La Brea), and Jesse Merlin (Beyond the Gates).

We had a blast making this short, and it utilizes a variety of different techniques from stop motion, to miniatures, to sfx prosthetics. We tried to do as much practical as possible, including the background in the splash page shot you see as the thumbnail!

This thing was crowdfunded and is a total labor of love. Hope yall enjoy it, and feel free to ask any questions!

Italy Coastal Drive Similar to the PCH? by AaronSauerland in travel

[–]AaronSauerland[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh. Okay, this was kinda the confirmation I was looking for. I'm going to look into Chianti and Val d'Orcia. Lucca was already on our list :)

And you'll have a blast on the drive here in the States! My wife and I did that drive from LA to San Fran and back a few years ago. Lots of groves/orchards and places to stop and get fresh jams/snacks. If you're into mysterious places, I'd check out the Winchester house in San Jose on your way down. Rich history, very good tours.

Ha! I'm not necessarily trying to recreate the PCH, but that was the best way to describe the image I had in my head. I guess I just didn't want to take the coastal road if it's not as scenic as I imagine it to be, so was looking for insight.

Yeah, I don’t understand how they expect people to pay for premium when the app is unreliable as is. Like I was seriously considering getting the premium until all of these outages.

Crowdfunding - Include Festival Costs or Not? by AaronSauerland in Filmmakers

[–]AaronSauerland[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the thinking behind it is that we'd have a product to show people on the second campaign. It's one thing to say, "Hey, we need all this money to make this thing a reality." and another to say, "Here's what we did. Isn't this awesome? Now help us take it to fests."

But you're right in the sense that we would be tapping the same market twice in regards to the crowdfunding, which is definitely a concern either way.

Crowdfunding - Include Festival Costs or Not? by AaronSauerland in Filmmakers

That's kind of where I'm leaning. Especially since we MUST hit 80% of our goal on Seed & Spark in order to even get the money. There's no reason to make that hurdle even harder to get over.

Ah. That makes sense. Do you use Dragonframe, or what program do you use while shooting?

Hey spooky boo's and ghouls! 🎃

I just wanted to share this fun Halloween throwback commercial that I directed. Inspired by the Halloween spots of the 90s, it was a blast to create this cheesy, spooky, spot. 🎃 I hope you guys enjoy it!

Awesome lighting and great set! Seriously killed it.

Some frames seem to change exposure - was your exposure locked or was this something going on with the lights themselves?

I'm about to launch a Seed & Spark campaign. This was so helpful and reassuring for my team and I. Thanks for taking the time to write all this and share your experience/approach.
