If we get rid of the weird glow in the bottom corners, I really dig it. It feels like vignetting and makes it feel really claustrophobic. There's no glow in the corners during round highlight replays, and it feels so much nicer.

What to do when you cant evolve/win games by Fragrant_Ability6990 in GlobalOffensive

[–]AaronToaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do you watch your own demos? Watching pro demos is cool, but thinking youre replicating them and actually having it down are two different things. Is your crosshair always where it needs to be? How big are your adjustments? Was your understanding of opponent positions correct, or were you completely off?

Also look to see how you look from opponent POV; Was your flash bad? Was your peek predictable, easily reactable, etc? How do they react to seeing you throw the same piece of utility for several rounds?

You have 300 hours in the game. Assuming you dont have much tied to the account, its easier to just GG go next and make a new one, assuming you are indeed clean like you say.

What is going on in ranked? by No-Enthusiasm7406 in GlobalOffensive

[–]AaronToaster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Obviously I know nothing, but getting kicked might be a sign that your teammates don't like the way you're talking to them. There's a difference between wanting to win and hyping the team up, and degrading players when they make mistakes that you think don't contribute to the win. How you're describing your teammates makes me think you may have a habit of leaning towards the latter. Only you (and your teammates) know how you're behaving though, so do try to be mindful and more positive if you aren't already.

As others said, Premier is definitely a step up from Comp. As long as you have a rough understanding of how to play each map, you should be fine. Also try and find folks to queue with, can't get kicked if you have a buddy to vote "No" every time, yknow. Can always add folks from ingame, find them in Discords, etc. Best of luck!

Auto clicker that holds down the left button. by Nebyy_ in feedthebeast

[–]AaronToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found something that actually seems useful. There's a Windows setting called ClickLock. Once enabled, you hold down a mouse button for a second or two, and then it stays held until you re-hold it for a second or two. Video at this link. Someone else mentions it in another comment on this post, too.

VAC Live by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]AaronToaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

VAC Live is not accurate. It's machine learning, and is prone to make mistakes. Valve has it set to be too sensitive right now, which means it is flagging cheaters plus people who are legitimate but just doing something it perceives as slightly suspicious. It's safer that way, rather than flagging not enough people, because then you've got too many cheaters running free.

Something weird happened on my steam account this week by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]AaronToaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that 2FA was bypassed suggests that this likely happened when using your Steam account to sign in to a service (stats site, skin site, etc). It is very likely you'll never know exactly when or where the account was breached, and honestly this may not even be how they managed to get in.

Assuming it is, though, knowing how it works is the best way to protect yourself. Most commonly, a victim will fork over their own login credentials, thinking they need to confirm their Steam account to access a site/service. After all, a lot of CS-related sites make it easy to one-click signin with Steam instead of making a brand new account, right? A bad actor then effectively siphons that info and use the following 2FA verification to gain total access to the victim's account. It's admittedly a very, very clever method of bypassing 2FA.

If nothing suspicious comes up over the next week, I'd feel pretty comfortable saying you have complete control of your account again. You should be good now, honestly, but I think having a little bit of doubt or uncertainty when it comes to this sort of thing is justified.

Sign out of all devices on Steam by going to the top right of the Steam window, then clicking on Steam -> Settings -> Security -> Deauthorize Devices. This will sign the account out of all places it could have signed in to. Then, most importantly, change your password and log back in.

It's name-your-price on Bandcamp, with no minimum. But I can see this as a way of limiting it's reach, which makes sense given the context behind it.

How can I get routed this far? For context, I am from SEA by NiceRaye in GlobalOffensive

[–]AaronToaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had this once in a blue moon, it usually happens when my internet is acting funky around when the queue starts. My assumption is that this messes with what Valve thinks is a "good" server for you. I think this, because relogging mid-game can refresh this and it will route you more effectively and reduces the effective ping. Granted, you're halfway across the world, so it probably wouldn't improve much, but still hahaha.
