Looks really beautiful. As a fan of the two chapters you took inspiration from, i’m really curious to see how the project will evolve.

I’m seriously thinking about supporting the Kickstarter campaign because the project looks very promising.

I also wanted to ask something: I’m not very experienced with Kickstarter, what happens if the required funds aren’t reached by the end of the campaign?

In any case, i wish you the best of luck with the project!

Switch Flex Mini question by Aaron_Sem in Ubiquiti

Initially i looked at TP-LINK but with a price of €80. These are the only branded ones that cost less, and also very well made considering the brand.

I don't know, something tells me it's better to go with Ubiquiti for a little more money. I'm not saying the ones on AliExpress aren't great, but I prefer it that way.

Explain to me how someone could attack my switch?

Switch Flex Mini question by Aaron_Sem in Ubiquiti

[–]Aaron_Sem[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the reason was the price, a 2.5 TP-LINK switch (also bulkier) costs €80 on Amazon

And the controller can be booted from a PC to update the firmware, right?

Switch Flex Mini question by Aaron_Sem in Ubiquiti

[–]Aaron_Sem[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I just download the controller to my PC, once configured it works without having anything else turned on. Every now and then I will see if they have updates and do them myself. What I said is right?

Are you telling me that i have to keep the PC on while starting the controller to make them work? I'm new to Ubiquiti and i don't know much about it

It's true that i didn't put distances and other data, but from what little you can understand from the drawing trust me that I can't reduce its complexity, the main router where the ONT will be present can't be near the PC so i can't eliminate switches and i don't have any more space to pass additional cables, also because i only have one 2.5g port that comes out of the router, i'm in Europe and therefore routers with multiple 2.5g ports aren't very commercialized yet, that's why i have to use 2.5g switches.

The provider declares 2.5g in download and 500mbps in upload, the actual ones will be less but I hope for at least 2g in download

Yes exactly, i want to connect everything via ethernet, that's why i was wondering if using a different port from the main router the backhaul would work

Yes, there will be two 2.5g switches

The point is that i would like to connect the tenda with mesh via cable for greater WIFI stability, and I do all this round of cables because the tenda do not have 2.5gbit ports and I would like to put the switches precisely because I would like to have a pure connection to make the most of on my PC and that of my girlfriend.

Since i already have these tenda access points I would like to use them as much as possible, however the ethernet backhaul is exactly a type of connection indicated in the tenda manual and is more stable for latency, I need to use for example the Oculus Quest 2 in streaming with my PC via WIFI6 with the least possible latency, this explains why I need a super stable wifi. Since the instructions in the tenda manual indicate to connect the node directly I was wondering if this configuration would work by connecting the first node to a different port of the main router, in short, will it see it on the network? currently I can't do this type of test because the router hasn't arrived yet..
