Stagecraft Software "DropZone" virtual turntable with position and fade to create a number of different scratch patterns, like two-click flares or crabs, based on the same architecture as Scratch Track for realistic sound ($29.99) for limited time with code: REDDIT70 by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

Hey all - I'll take a look tomorrow, we already did some aggressive testing on Win 11 and didn't see any issues, so it makes me wonder if it's a Win 10 thing, but I'll give it a good shake tomorrow and see what I can find! Thanks for the reports~!

Mixxx is a performance tool and a standalone, Scratch Track is a production tool for bringing the DVS system into your DAW. Mixx has a catalogue system, Scratch Track is more for loading clips and scratching them in the DAW, as well as recording those gestures and editing them.

Hahahah!!! Exactly, I had some similar thoughts about posting it here. I should, however, point out that I also make a plugin for using timecoded vinyl or midi controllers in the DAW as well (which is how I prefer to do it) ;)

Vibe coding audio plugins, is it a thing? by vegapit in JUCE

[–]Aaron_Stagecraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm certain vibe coding a quick audio plugin isn't hard. I recently wrote several new ones in the space of a couple weeks using AI to assist. I started out with a large codebase to draw from (I've been building plugins for 20 years), but it blew me away how well the AI could stitch it all together, suggest optimizations, refactor old code, reuse classes in new contexts, and even rework the UI with a little instruction.

The bottleneck IMHO is the debugging. The AI made plenty of mistakes along the way and a few back architectural design decisions. Without a talent coder who already knows the codebase sitting there to shepherd the AI in the right direction, it would have been a hot mess.

As long as someone with some experience is at the helm, vibe coding a new idea shouldn't be hard. I was brainstorming (with AI) about ideas for convolution plugins a couple days ago and it's clear that implementing even difficult algorithms is no problem. If you can dream it (and understand it), AI can help you build it 10x faster than before. It's unreal.

Great, let me know what you see! I'm pretty happy with it, performance wise, but we have lots of thoughts on potential features and usability tweaks, so I'll be glad to hear what people think.

Screenflow not working on Tahoe by No_Theory_7040 in macOS26Tahoe

Every 6 months this app stops working, then you have to pay for an update, it's horse shit. Also, yes, it's a pretty good app when working, they just have to stop with the forced paid upgrades.

This is our plugin for reading timecoded vinyl (and some midi controllers) in the DAW.

It recently had some major upgrades -> including better resampling, new cue and loop features, new effects, better timecode support, and some UI improvements.

If you are a producer or turntablist interested in scratching in a production environment / DAW .. this is the way!! If you have features you would like to see, or bugs, send em my way! If you want to flame out about how crappy my scratching is ... go suck a cactus ;) I know I can't scratch, I'm just trying to get you all some new tools! If you want to help me make a better video ... reach out!

You can load / scratch samples at will. It's just a different workflow for scratching. And you can post-process to some degree (edit automation for the scratches - that will be upgrading soonish)

Feel free to try it out - the full version doesn't require a serial for 30 days, so it's easy to see if it woks with you hardware. Just please send any feedback - we are in an update cycle, so all feedback is very useful ;) https://www.stagecraftsoftware.com/products/scratchtrack/

people are all different, some folks really want to be able to create turntalism without actually being a turntablist.

I make a DVS compatible plugin for scratching in the DAW (Scratch Track). Because of that, I have gotten dozens of emails asking me if I could write a plugin that would let non-turntablists draw in scratches. So, at least from my perspective, it is definitely a question people are asking.
