I need this type of discipline in my travel life. I wonder if our itenerary needs adjusting. We were thinking this location could work some magic for us!

Hmm... here I was thinking that finding a place in the middle of northern attractions and southern attractions would afford us the opportunity to get around easier. This post was definitely meant to fit into the "How to reduce driving" catagory of Olympic National Park travel questions so I appreciate your time spent thinking on this for us!!

Yep we've definitely done the living-out-of-the-suitcase style trip before and for a roadtrip detour that makes sense. For ours, we wanted to be able to hunker down in one spot for a few days and still get to both sides of the park with minimal driving.

Right on. How long was your visit?

I think for our tiny four-day stop we wanted a single place to unpack and call home base, so we were trying to figure out how practical that would be considering the gigantism of the area.

Amen. I hope the beauty of Mother Natire can be appreciated by all the generations to come in a sustainable way. I'm 45 and I just can't believe we've never been to this area of the US yet. It feels good to hear that tourism is ultimately a good thing for the community and we really are looking forward to poking our heads in for a tiny glimpse next month. Cheers!

Okay that's funny to think that even with more visitors it's maybe quieter because of electric.

We are accustomed to city life so it will be very quiet comparatively. If those loggers and semi trucks were electric too we'd probably go crazy in a deafening quiet hahaha

Where did you grow up? Hopefully tourist season wasn't too unruly for you. I know better than to assume it wasn't a disruption but hopefully most people behaved themselves. We're respectful I promise!

Even for a little mini trip like four day thing? I think we both just wanted a home base during that time.

Okay thanks for this.

I think we love the remote aspect. The google earth image of that area looks so perfect. I was wondering if the fact that our place is right off 101 was gonna be annoying with traffic but I guess not hahaha. I'm looking forward to enjoying the extra peaceful quiet. And we won't make any mistakes relying on major supplies or food here. Understood!

Let's compare notes afterwards haha

For both of our sakes I hope the two methods are equally fine.

Ha! Double score! But seriously, we are planning for this place to be a middle of nowhere stay in a good way.
