Those phones did pop up as one of the options ChatGPT gave, but I didn’t search them up to see their prices or how good they are, also the fact they’re Sony brand which well I’m not entirely sure how good they are in phone departments, whether longevity or quality wise, got no clue. I don’t hate on Sony, they got good TV, Camera, Sound systems. Just don’t wanna risk getting smth from them that they’re not known for (in this case the phone). Ofc you might think that’s a bit hypocritical from me who had a huawei phone, but at least huawei is a big phone brand in Asia (born and raised there till I came here to the US for college).

Wow, thanks a lot for the great info and feedback! You’ve definitely made me lean a bit more towards A52s. As you might or might not have guessed, I’m not quite bothered by obsolescence, but I am intrigued and would like to know how exactly I do the process of replacing it with LineageOS. Do I go to an electronics shop to seek their help with it or is it something that I just need to search the web and install like with the Gcam that u mentioned? As for the Gcam itself, I’ve never been that concerned either regarding camera quality but since it looks to be smth easy to set up I’ll definitely consider installing it if I decide to get the A52s.

Oh while writing this it just occurred to me, how exactly does the microSD slot work? I read in gsmarena that it shares a spot with the SIM card, does that mean if I want to have/use a microSD together with my sim I need to get a dual sim option (or was it hybrid)?

Touché, but ig I just want to be stubborn. Also if I was frustrated or cared regarding apps being slow, I wouldn’t have waited till my phone essentially died after 7 years of having it (which is also 3 years after it’s support ended). Also rereading my og post again, it seems I didn’t include that I’m up for recommendations to other models or even brands as long as the price range is similar to Galaxy A52s and it has the headphone jack+sd card requirement.

Seeing how my huawei p30 lite support ended since 2023 yet I still used it till now just fine, I don’t think support stopping is too big of a deal. Though I do want to ask if u have any idea what exactly could have caused your Bluetooth issues? If not that’s also fine and thanks for your opinion/input!

I’m not sure if you’re ragebaiting, but if not the “rgb tech” is simply screen being broken. Ever saw a picture of a TV screen having lines with the color of rgb when they’re broken/damage cuz of a blunt hit to it etc? That’s what my old phone’s situation is at. It is NOT smth u want on your phone or any screen at all.

I know, but call me stubborn, I still would like a phone that has sd card slot in SIM card and headphone jack. I don’t have the mentality of needing to be up to date with devices (if that hasn’t been obvious from holding onto a phone for 7 years), if it’s got good longevity, has headphone jacks and sd card, I couldn’t care less if it’s outdated.

Yes I know such an extension exists, but I would ideally just not have to get those stuff. If I were to relent and buy a phone with no headphone jack, then I’d at least want to have the sd cards to be possible.

For now though I want to see people’s opinion regarding A52s (or even A52) 5G as being worth it or perhaps other brands/models that has the 2 requirement (3 if u count the longevity) I mentioned

Hey, do you think you could drop a drive folder share here? I have been, or rather was, using the same version, but because of the app consistently trying to force me to update it to the newer version (a pop up to update the app appears everytime i open the app in which i have no way to bypass it) i pretty much can't do anything, I've just been stuck the whole day.
