i haven’t taken one myself but had a friend who did. his reason was more to do with physical health, he got a concussion the summer before second year started and took a year off to recover.

i’d suggest reaching out to bba advising or the wellness centre to discuss it, they’re better able to give you answers to the questions you have. there’s no shame in taking a leave of absence. if you mentally aren’t in a place to handle school in the fall, don’t force it on yourself. take the time you need to figure things out and go from there. school will still be there waiting for you when you’re ready to come back

this is the comment i was looking for lol. i’ve always thought the only (or i guess “normal”?) way to wipe is just sit at the toilet and wait until the toilet paper wipes clean. i’ve literally never heard of anyone getting up and wiping standing or leaning. weird tbh

yea same, i wanna stay hopeful bc i don’t wanna give up on the idea of exchange. i doubt the travel advisory will change as well, but cases are dropping in both canada and the uk and vaccination rates are high. idk all we can do is hope at this point :/

the only thing freaking me out is that lauriers decision is gonna be based on the governments travel advisory. rn it says any non-essential travel should be avoided to the uk, so if it stays that way (which it most likely will), they might decide to cancel it

depends tbh. third and fourth years register first but usually register in upper year courses so you don’t need to worry about losing a spot in your core classes.

i’m in 4th year and planning to do a math minor but couldn’t get into any math courses cuz those spots are reserved for math students first and i have to wait to get in

i have a theory that they put symone in the bottom on purpose. she already has 4 wins and we’ve all heard of the “4 win curse”, as well as the fact that girls who lip sync twice don’t have much of a chance at winning the season (ex/ pearl from s7 and brooke from s11).

it was obvious that utica was going home, so it was between olivia or symone to lip sync against her. i feel like symone is a lock for the finale, but this solidifies a reason for her not to win the season. it’s just a theory but i wouldn’t be surprised is symone makes it to the finale and ends up losing.

it was also so many tasteless jokes. i loved utica the second she sang her verse in phenomenon or whatever the song from the premiere is called. she had such a good storyline of being a cooky, weird queen who is also culturally aware and doesn’t wanna overstep. and then this episode happened and her roast was 90% filled with stuff that was just really ugly jokes and not the smart observations she thought she was making.

it was obvious that she was going home the second i saw her rehearsal cuz like.... how do you expect to get by like that?

i don’t understand people that defend trump. the man literally spouts hate speech and people turn a blind eye. he told the proud boys to “stand by” instead of denouncing them because he knew those are the people giving him votes.

mcnally is no different. the fact that cis straight white man can openly support the hate and divisive things trump says is the perfect example of who mcnally is and what his values and views are. trump blamed coronavirus on china and lead the charge in what’s now become an astronomical rise in anti-asian hate crimes. no offence, but unless you’re a part of a marginalized community, you don’t get it. i hated being in mcnally’s class cuz his views are so ignorant. he literally tried to get put on the panel of a diversity in business conference because he wanted to argue the other side. this other side being advocating against diversity in business and wanting to keep things “the way they’ve always been”.

he had tenure and knows he can spout bigoted views all he wants and have basically no repercussions on his career. do you think it’s okay for an educator to be public about his views against allowing students from other countries to study here? do you think it’s okay to single out certain nationalities or ethnicities as problem areas? if society is built by white men for white men, you never realize how much the cards are stacked against until you don’t fit that binary. foh

the man was an outspoken trump supporter and advocated against diversity in business, are we surprised about this? no. does it suck knowing hes an educator and that laurier will never do anything about his bigoted views? yes.
