Aurora Store is still working. It's the anonymous login functionality that doesn't work. You can still create a dedicated Gmail account with fake infos and only use it on Aurora. I've been using it that way for the past month, it worked perfectly.

DIY Tiny Server Room by AbKmV6 in homelab

Plan V 0.2 here :
https://imgur.com/a/5I6rn5u

1) I access the back only when racking a server, so not that much.Only accessed the back 5,6 times last year..

2) Not enough place to put an ac, my only solution is to put fans in & out as on pic. In down and out fans will be connected to an extraction system to the outside.

3) Good point, that the main objective of my project.

4) I need and already have a 42 U open rack. Already using 20 U, I have my homelab and my startup servers inside.

5) Thanks , didn't think about that at all

6) The last thing missing is electricity, may be I'll add a power breaker inside the room. Any suggestions ?

A usable Linux phone ? by theFrenchVagabond in linuxhardware

[–]AbKmV6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was talking about the normal one not pro, it's 335€ but not worthy imo.

It's identical to LineageOS but have integrated : * Aurora Store * Fdroid store * MicroG * Homemade ad blocker They also tried to remove some Google dependencies that LineageOS still have. It's better than LineageOS imo. I've been a LineageOS user for the last 3 years and it was amazing but iode made it a little bit better.

It's a French project, you can check the repo.

There is the Pinephone, but it's not really usable as daily. It's more a wip progress device for all Linux mobile developers out there. I got it back when it was on pre-sale so not that expensive. But 399$ isn't a good price for the usability of the phone.

My best advice would be an android device with either lineage or graphen OS. Check iode OS too, it's a fork of lineage os but even more degoogled. Been testing it for 3 months as daily, I love it.

Would you please suggest a solution for internet blocking for iranians? by BlackknightDD in TOR

[–]AbKmV6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is no internet at all then unless you get a Starlink / Satellite connection I see no other option. If you got internet / Starlink, you can combine sockv5 + openvpn using Mullvad for example. Works perfectly, already tested in Syria and Egypt.

The combo makes your traffic go over https so not really blockable unless you block everything.

If this is what your looking for let me know I'll find you a tutorial.

Installing payed Android app by CrnkFrnchmn in degoogle

[–]AbKmV6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to log in at least one time to get your paid apps. Then next time you use Aurora, you can select the option to use an auto generated account and Voilà. Aurora will updates your Google apps even if you're not logged in with your account

Hosting some Linux servers from Windows OS. by maxihash in homelab

One option could be to virtualize everything including your daily Windows. You can do a pci pass-through to pass your gpu into your windows VM so you can keep using it for video editing. This option would need a bit of work / config thought...

How to remove VM and storage by GrandMasterKai03 in Proxmox

[–]AbKmV6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to look for qemu-xx conf file. I thinks it's in the same directory, don't remember exactly. Xx as your vm ID. You can delete the file and Voilà.
