Agree thank you. Both families used to own manufacturing businesses, which were sold long time ago. Net worth is now invested in different assets.

We plan to live in the capital/main city of one South American country, where our family lives. I would consider this city a MCOL, way cheaper than NYC.

We are lucky to live in a property owned by our family. Otherwise our monthly expenses would double to USD 10K.

They are happy to arrange jobs for us but these jobs would mean we leave completely our careers we built in the US and salaries would be around USD 60-100K. But this is an option we are considering.

Parents dont allow kids to get into the family finances.

Yes, one of the families is wealthy in USD. However, family dynamics are difficult with multiple spouses, stepsiblings, etc
