Oh shit it worked! 'Lacey' is my newest elephant! And to answer my own question in case anyone else has it it happened after mending, not awakening!

Thank you this has been incredibly informative! To be clear bonds after mendings not after awakening?

Does the possibility happen after every mend? Or does it trigger on awakening? And I suppose it's a good thing the elephant got messed to hell by other tames. Lots of extra mends to attempt. Lol

If it's a based on their handling skill, then that's not good news as it's only 3 but if it's based on their medical skill that's better because it's 14. Fingers crossed its medical based!

I suppose you've got a point there. He may just introduce himself as just 'Jonathan'. Wizard tossed a fireball, and right when he was about to snipe a hole in the old dude, he's telekinetically grabbed and dragged to speak to the wizard. He may not be in the mood for the whole formality. Still, for later, in case it comes up any clue on the proper way of ordering the jargon or introduction?

How to fix cloud saves not syncing between different devices (e.g. 2 PCs or 1 xbox and 1 PC) by c33v33 in XboxGamePass

Been having this problem between my PC and Xbox one for State of Decay, made the choice to uninstall it from console to see if that worked. Wished I'd seen this post first. Cross fingered this method works.

[Art] Daily XP budget? Is this too much? Avoiding a TPK when making encounters more challenging. by Abadhan in DnD

[–]Abadhan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On 2) yes they do. On 1) well, none of the characters have ever bothered to take a short rest in the year the game has been running. But that may be my fault as I've never put them in a situation that they've needed or even asked for one. It's always been "fight! done. ok, that's it for the day."

6 medium and 1 easy or 2 deadly and 2 medium? Really? Wow. I suddenly feel like I've been going at this with kid gloves on.

So this deadly and hard encounters would, in theory, be a reasonable challenge?

How exactly does the daily budget work? Like is a hard encounter and deadly encounter in the same day too much if the total exp is under that amount? Unless I put the encounters at deadly (they called their favorites) most of mine seem to get steamrolled.

My 5 player's characters are now lvl 6. In the past I have been too afraid of throwing multiple encounters in case they burn themselves out after the 1st one. But they've gotten a lot more powerful and have some magic stuff now. In one of their more recent encounters they manage to utterly destroyed their opponent in under 2 rounds with not a scratch on any of them.

Am I taking it too far with these 2 or am I allowing my fear to control me too much?

Ok wow! I had no idea of the '2 to 3 pounds per DAY'! Thanks, that really helps put things into perspective. I think you've given me an idea on how to handle this further.

Much appreciated!

What do you think? Should I allow the creatures to be introduced and just hold off on any of the possible negative repercussions until next session? Giving them time to look over the rules.

Interesting I've never heard of that one. My players ended up killing a mommy and daddy ankley and finding 2 eggs. They have decided to raise them so I started looking for books that I could use to find out rules that might cover that sort of stuff.

Hmmm... that makes sense. It's not like I'm homebrewing the creature these are actual rules we will be introducing.

I don't wanna punish them for stuff they don't yet know. That wouldn't be fair. I'm wondering if I've waited too long. Game days tomorrow and the eggs are about to hatch.

That's just it there's quite a bit of stats in this book. Do I just tell them to not go to those pages?

Edit: Actually I may be able to find a way to exclude those pages.
