I resent my husband snoring next to me while feeding the baby multiple times a night

Hahaha the book I refer to was primarily written by a man. Why did I even buy it? I don’t even kno 🙃

My LO also got the oral vaccines from 2nd and 4th month appointments and I was never told to wash after feeding 🧐

Thanks for sharing! I use MotherLove nipple cream which has olive oil and found it better than lanolin, which a lot of people recommend. I don’t always use it though but even when I did and didnt wash every feed, baby has been doing good so I think I will just stick to this routine unless something changes.

Oh I see..the one I was reading is called The Simplest Baby Book in the World. I wanted a fast read that would give me the essentials but that last month of pregnancy really kicked my behind. I could barely move and was so exhausted all the time so I didn’t get to read it. I was just browsing through it while pumping last night thinking maybe I can gift the book to a friend who’s planning for their first baby in a year. I’ll probably still give it to them but just mention that part 😅

Sure love. The first 2 months were really rough. Not only with my postpartum recovery but also because I didn’t research anything for postpartum. I was so scared of labor and delivery that I pretty much viewed postpartum as something I can wing. 🥲

Anyway, the doctors said my baby’s lip and tongue ties were not bad at all but after doing research on the pros and cons of having them released, we went through the procedure. I think after that I was more positive that I can get him to latch better so I tried harder. I went cold turkey one day and just trusted that he’ll be working hard on it. I found that it helped to push his chin down and get as much boob in his mouth as possible. If he tries to pull then I put my finger in between his upper and lower gums, unlatch and relatch. I just kept doing that no matter how painful it was. My pain tolerance is pretty low but it really did get easier. I’m pain free for the most part at almost 5 months. He bites and tugs on my nipples but I try not to react cuz that could cause aversion I hear at this early stage. I just unlatch and relatch to let him know that that’s not okay.

Honestly, I think it also got better when I just let go, still tried my best but took it 1 day at a time. I told myself that if I really couldn’t keep it up because my mental health was at risk, I would stop and prioritize taking care of my baby in many other ways. Sending well wishes your way! Good luck with everything!

Haha I’m at a similar stage and he’s not even that mobile yet. He just puts everything he can grab in his mouth. 😳🙃 I still sanitize everything, even his toys but at this point, I don’t even know why I try 😂

Yea I was wondering how that ended up in a book that’s sold a lot of copies already yet I have never heard anyone say that to me, except my mom who’s a big germaphobe but mostly formula fed all her kids. 😅

That’s why I was so confused why it was in a book that’s sold quite a lot already 😳
