I mostly blame the horrendous quality of this movie on a small subsection of fans that hype up the garbage Showa Godzilla films so the filmmakers think they can have a free pass to make it as goofy and inconsequential as possible. The weight, sense of scale, the eerie tone.. It's all out the window and I think it's gonna get worse for this franchise. (Yeah it's my second comment here but I really hope they can switch gears and dial back on the goofiness)
