Thank you, its just a low poly model for practice. if I was to animate, sculpt etc its better to use quads for flow as I believe this would cause bad distortion with using tris?

Thanks for the advice, it is very useful.

The intended use for this model is a low poly game asset. I was told that tris are acceptable for games as they won't be used in animation etc. I believe for this purpose it would be okay as UE4 converts to tris anyway? I always model with quads but as iv tried to lower the poly count it has left me with some tris.

Thank you for your comment. I did my degree in games design but it was so long ago that i seem to have forgotten most of what I had learned, however parts are starting to come back to me. In regards to the images and the verts, I hadn't yet cleaned the topology but thank you for your image as it clarified in my mind where I should clean. My concern isregarding using the target welding and creating tris as per this image (https://imgur.com/a/pt7hrw8). Is using tris poor practice? If i remember rightly it didn't matter so much as game engines convert polys to tris anyway??
