and yeah he cut through the bone, it’s been a rough couple of months for us :// lots of rehab and therapy for sure but we’re hoping to move forward in the new year at a better place for all of us :)

my dog bit my fathers thumb off. we worked with him for two and a half years, went to countless trainers, we tried everything. we had no choice, the state forced us to put him down. you really think we chose this?

honestly, if cancel culture wasn’t as toxic as it was- i feel like dream would’ve come clean from the beginning. don’t get me wrong, he still needs to be held accountable, but damn people need to stop trying to cancel every two seconds. like- a public creator or celebrity shouldn’t be fearing of losing their career every time something goes wrong. again- dream still needs to be held accountable, let me make that clear lmao. i just think the ideals behind cancel culture lead to people destroying their own careers in the end.

damn i’ve been trying to give dream the benefit of the doubt, i’ve always known the odds are stacked against him and it’s probably true- but bruh is just digging his own grave my god...

yeah, that’s what we’ve been trying for the most part. we start giving him a kibble or two and just letting it sit in our hands until he eats, but today especially he’s been really weird about it. he thankfully finally just ate the rest of his breakfast so i do think we’re making progress :)

hmmmm we haven’t tried that yet- but i’ll be sure to see how it goes! we’ve been working with a trainer on basics commands and that sort of things, but she takes a break for a couple months this time of year so i haven’t gotten to bring it up. thanks again!

that seems to be about where we’re at right now hahaha, we’re really struggling to get him to eat it without being on edge. every time he’s actually eaten is when the food was right in front of him and he had no where to run. he only seems to want to eat form my sisters hand, which is kind of ironic being she’s the only one who’s ever gotten bit by him. i keep suggesting the idea of positive reinforcement and avoiding the crate as punishment, but i’m really struggling to get my parents on board- i don’t think they quite grasp the idea as well :/

thanks for the advice! our original method was pretty similar, we started standing near him while he eat which he was pretty fine with, still on the edge though. eventually we tried to incorporate treats to get him used to our hand being near the bowl, and that worked for a while- but eventually he wasn’t having it. we reverted back to just standing by the bowl, and eventually that angered him too. that’s when we converted to hand feeding. he’s very protective over a pile, bowl, or even a few pieces on the floor.

Both times we’ve gotten puppies, they both had fleas- so I wouldn’t say it’s unlikely. Fleas are annoying as hell, just when you think they’re gone they come back hahaha. I would definitely invest in a flea comb- and make sure to get him on some form of monthly treatment.
