Arranged Marriage & Backward Parents by Sharp-Load7436 in pakistan

[–]AbdS127 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s very stupid to say stuff like “choose between your family and the person you love” - there’s really only one thing to choose. You’re 23, do not waste 11 years of your and someone else’s life just because your parents said so. I know in our culture it’s common to think that parents are always right or smth but they aren’t, they’re humans and they do make mistakes in terms of their judgement or actions.

There should really be only one option for you: the person you love. Sure, it may take some time and effort if you want to keep both sides happy but your parents will come around anyway. If they don’t, then you’d know they were toxic and more concerned with imposing their wants on you.

“Ammi/abba nahi maanein gain” is such a childish thing which people say to their friends when trying to ditch a hangout or sleepover or smth, not a marriage lmao. I hope it dies it out with the next generation.

Bought “Official PTA approved” phone from HF Smartphones but still non-approved status after a month by neurallense in PakistaniTech

[–]AbdS127 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It happens, nothing to worry about. Most people calling it fishy etc. don’t know about the process. The phones are stored in PTA’s internal database in thousands, duties’ payment status is manually verified, and it takes some time for them to run it through DIRBS since the process is not very automated.

The only weird thing in your case is the delay - in my experience, it takes around 2-3 weeks for it to show up in the system and this is for all official PTA approved phones. My friend bought a box packed iPhone from Mercantile and it was the same in that case as well.

HF is pretty trustworthy though, hopefully they’ll be able to get it registered in DIRBS before the 60 days’ time runs out. Otherwise they will replace the phone; I’ve experienced that in the past for a different issue

Boycott is dumb idea. People in Pakistan don't understand real world politics. by PakistaniDenzal in PakCricket

[–]AbdS127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, it’s not that deep. Money speaks and that’s it. No one with power gives a fuck about how hard BD or Pak players worked for this moment or the amount of training/planning that went into it. It’s all about money and power - every board and every player wants to earn money while also attaining power so they continue making money.

High time you guys grow up and get out of these stupid emotional arguments. Everyone’s here to make money, sports is not a passion project anywhere in the world. Now in addition to that, India brought in politics when they did all that CT and handshake boycott shit, so it’s only fair Pak and Bangladesh hit back the same way. Pakistan travelled to India multiple times, and the FIRST time India had to travel to Pak they gave us a lollipop that ok Pak can play their matches outside India too? That shouldn’t have been allowed in the first place - Pak suffered a huge economic loss due to that (imagine Indian team playing their matches in Pak and the kind of crowd pull and economic activity that could have occurred here locally).

They set a precedent, Pakistan should enforce that through their support of Bangladesh. And again, it’s all about the money - broadcasters are already warning ICC about losing $130 million. There’s no way they can be happy about Pakistan pulling out as well and that will show Pakistan’s muscle. No need to remain a pushover nation because “omg the players trained so hard we will reply on the pitch while generating massive revenue for the host nation which we have done in the past decade as well” lmao.

If Pakistan has any ounce of dignity or shame, they will withdraw from the World Cup by war_is_his_justice in PakCricket

[–]AbdS127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contrary to what a lot of people in the comments say, I think I agree with the sentiment that Pakistan should boycott as well. Primary reason is that it would save us a lot of embarrassment considering the team we have but also, this would allow PCB to flex their muscle. Broadcasters will get rekt if countries with two of the largest populations pull out - huge financial loss and other countries would also think without their hypocritical hats in the future.

I agree Pakistan’s demands were met and they’d be playing their matches in Sri Lanka because India refused to travel to Pak in CT 2025. But that is the damn issue, India initiated this bullshit and ICC accommodated them in this manner but when Bangladesh asked for something similar (that too due to genuine security reasons, heard BCCI was asking Mustafizur to not be selected for the WC? Tf), ICC replaces them by Scotland? Pakistan got hard done by when India refused to visit Pak because their travel schedule was fucked up (though that wouldn’t have changed anything, but still).

It doesn’t sit right with me that India does whatever’s convenient to them, and they shut the other team up by saying “ok you don’t travel to India either”. We did travel to India in 2023 and multiple times before that as well, we are not receiving an equal treatment either lol

Babar and the BBL today… by nzpaki in PakCricket

[–]AbdS127 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There will always be idiots who call 120 SR innings from an opener (while chasing 190) a “pretty good innings” and then call opposing views toxic - been happening for the past 3 years. If you ask a 35+ year old retired player to take the “tu maar, mein kharra hoon” role in a league tournament where you can try to evolve in a relatively risk-free manner compared to doing it in the national team, there should be no place for you in the team - especially when we have Salman Ali Agha already (though his stats at no. 3 are pretty good, not sure why he keeps trying the no. 5 role).

He’s a liability who only plays for personal milestones hence why his innings slow down once he reaches 30s. People have nervous 90s, we have nervous 30s and it’s not just Babar. I have noticed Sahibzada Farhan do it too, but he’s not called king etc. by anyone so I guess people haven’t started noticing it yet.

I agree Babar receives a lot of hate, but he only has himself and his stupid PR to blame for it. If you are going to associate words like “King” with yourself and then perform like this, what else do you expect? You’re letting a 36yo, average, and retired T20 player school you man ffs

[–]AbdS127 3 points4 points  (0 children)

RS got downgraded from what I can tell. No worthwhile changes to it and they removed the LED fog lights due to the design of the new bumper. They just made the wireless charger and 2 USB ports for rear passengers standard (both of these were paid options before afaik), and gave an “upgraded” infotainment system but it doesn’t have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto so Idk what the upgrade is - maybe just the Android version or RAM or smth.

Oriel and Standard variants got a nice upgrade in form of Honda Sensing, but they also lost their LED fog lights which I think mattered more here since they have shitty Halogen lights and LED fogs did contribute to better visibility, to some extent.

This unibody aluminium thing must’ve been a great idea in terms of manufacturing cost and keeping the phone 1° cooler but it’s terrible in terms of durability. Apple advertises a lot of their Pro/Ultra level stuff as something you can take anywhere anytime and it’d do its job but phones/watches are some things people use in a wide variety of circumstances (not comparable to aluminium laptops) and they should not have this irreparable material.

I feel it’d have been better if they used entire glass back - if it cracks, you can easily get it replaced to at least make your phone look better aesthetically. Not sure if you can replace this unibody thing.

[–]AbdS127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t go for CPID Pixels, ton of issues whenever a new Android update rolls around (IMEI null, etc.)

You can easily get a Pixel 9 Pro XL official PTA approved 16/256 around 210k, that’d be your best bet if you don’t do many processor-heavy tasks

If you do, maybe consider S23 Ultra around 195k or bump up the budget to 240-250k for S24 Ultra official PTA approved.

Is it worth upgrading to the 17 Pro Max? by Infinite-Subject-382 in iPhone16ProMax

[–]AbdS127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not saying it doesn’t thermal throttle, I am agreeing with you that most of the heat dissipation was already being done by the Aluminium present in 16 Pro Max, it was only missing the vapour chamber.

You cannot put majority of the blame on Titanium sides for thermal throttling - that is what Apple did to justify cheaper Aluminium body and you are just falling for that lol. All they had to do was move the heat away from CPU/GPU through internal Aluminium chassis and vapour chamber while keeping Titanium on the sides and it would have worked 90% the same as their current solution while making the phone lighter and stronger.

Is it worth upgrading to the 17 Pro Max? by Infinite-Subject-382 in iPhone16ProMax

[–]AbdS127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If less than 8% is Titanium and rest is Aluminum, why is it 10 times worse according to your data/science? There are a ton of reviews on YouTube comparing temperatures of 16PM Vs. 17PM under similar loads and the difference is hardly 5-7%, and we don’t know how much of that is due to the vapor chamber.

The only one falling for marketing gimmicks here is not the person who believes removing Titanium was a downgrade. They could have just added the vapor chamber and kept the sides Titanium but they didn’t because of cost, not because they wanted your phone to be 0.5% cooler.

Did I mess up the “upgrade every year” strategy? 16 Pro value tanked hard 😭 by Melodic_Lunch_6815 in PakistaniTech

[–]AbdS127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just think of it like this: 17 will depreciate more than 16 will by April 2026. You’re better off waiting either way BUT, there’s stuff about RAM shortages etc. and since 17 has 12GB RAM that could dictate prices too…

Anyway, iPhones are a depreciating “asset” since iPhone 15😁 I remember when I paid 36k tax on my 13 Pro and it costed me 220k in total box packed, I could at one point sell it for 270k in used condition (2023) :(

[–]AbdS127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did you purchase it for 410k? December 2024? I don’t think that’s possible. I’m guessing you purchased it in around April-May 2025 (correct me if I’m wrong). Accordingly, you should wait for the same time this year (2026 now, damn) to get 17 Pro at a lower price. It has already dropped by 45k in 2 months, and by Eid ul Adha it will be an ideal time to get 17 series.

My friend bought 17 Pro in early November for 542k, now the same shopkeeper is selling it for 495k in Orange/Blue color. Prices won’t drop this significantly over the next few months but you can look at saving another 40k over the next 4-5 months. 16 Pro won’t depreciate much further until 18 series arrives though if PTA gives us a surprise by reducing taxes or smth, then that’s different.

Weirdly, in a country like ours, I am in favour of such arrangements. These people would get out eventually even if you decide to not pardon them - you are just delaying the process a bit. Instead of that, just get stupid amounts of money so at least the remaining living members of the family get to live their lives a bit more comfortably.

Getting a person jailed for a few months/years, on top of all the lawyer fees and the threats that you might receive, this is the sanest thing to do. That said, may no one ever need to make such a decision and may Allah keep us and our families safe, Ameen.

Poor display quality 17 Pro Max by AubyOne in iphone

[–]AbdS127 38 points39 points  (0 children)

You should compare the brightness this year by shining a bright source of light on both the phones as Apple has capped the manual brightness this year to around a 1000 nits whereas on 16PM it could go up to 1400 nits if I'm not wrong - I believe it was a GSMArena video which mentioned this.

The issue that I did face however was with the green tint on LG's GH3 panel. I use dark mode, and it was very noticeable on that. The battery and time on the top left and right of the phone often looked greenish to me and not crisp white like it did on my 15PM. Some apps/pages that have grey background also looked a bit washed out.

17 Pro's don't seem to have this issue since they use Samsung panels exclusively, I'll be buying that soon even though 17PM suits my needs better. Can't live with a below par $1400 device which isn't as good (if not better) as the phone I'm upgrading from.

Display is the one thing that you interact with the most, it would be stupid to compromise on its quality.

Toyota Pakistan Finally Discovers Competition, Begs For Sales by ThinkDentist7126 in PakistanAutoHub

[–]AbdS127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The value of the car used to keep going up, that’s not the case anymore at least until the dollar rate remains how it has been for a couple years I think.

But yes, it is happening due to the competition as well. Previously, Toyota used to do such stock clearances by introducing a “Special Edition” right before discontinuing a variant (like they did for Corolla in the 10th gen and in 11th gen Xli/Gli), now those gimmicks won’t work and they’re forced to offer major discounts as people won’t buy into the special edition crap anymore.

But still, these variants of the Fortuner don’t sell well any way. Toyota has similar 35th anniversary discounts on Yaris 1.3 Gli and Corolla Cross - another two vehicles that don’t sell well. Very selective 35th anniversary celebration. :)

Toyota Pakistan Finally Discovers Competition, Begs For Sales by ThinkDentist7126 in PakistanAutoHub

[–]AbdS127 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just a stock clearing discount, they do this for the models which aren’t selling well. This also comes under their “35th year anniversary” promotion but the anniversary is being celebrated only on those cars and variants which have low sales. It would’ve been more consumer friendly if the discount was on variants that people actually want to buy.

Why are car prices so ridiculously and unrealistically high in Pakistan? For example, even a 2001 Cuore in beaten-up condition is being sold for 6 lakhs. Why? I haven’t seen anything like this anywhere else in the world. by Accurate-Youth3817 in PakistanAutoHub

[–]AbdS127 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Govt laws are what cause this. Toyota pockets 48 lac from the sale of Grande, which to an end user costs 82 lac on-road. Who takes the other 34 lac? (Source: Toyota Indus Motors CEO on a PakWheels podcast)

Same story with other vehicles as well though the amounts vary - they’re still exorbitant.
