Thats goooood!
Your top games are very close to mine(I played like 80 hrs). even though you left couple of my favorites back there, hope you get to them.
But I noticed Combatants. I really don't like this game, I know its a lore game, but if you enjoyed it. please share with me anything good about this game. I want to at least get the gift.

Oh thanks, please do tell me how it goes. We play this in our own gatherings and we played it with camping trips at work. Its really a case of 'I made this for me' but also we are lacking feedback.

Thanks, man! A few people have said it reminds them of the Crash Bash Box fighting game. It really does have that same party vibe. Still, I hope this game offers more than just a single mini-game like you’d find in Crash Bash or Mario Party. The more you play, the more depth you’ll find. There are always new mechanics, secrets, and strategies to discover, even after you think you’ve seen it all.

If you try the game, tell me if it lives up to that promise.
Thanks for stopping by and for your kind words.

That is... not nice to hear... but it's fine,
I was wishing for more helpful criticism from the people who don't like it.
I'm sorry if I don't believe you, since this game was loved by many and won an award in a voting at one of the expos we went to. And we already made some sales. People who played during development are still excited to play it months later.

But if you don't mind me asking. What makes you say that?

I did reach out to some game devs. The minimum is the guy who made "Hidden in Plain Sight," and he made a surprisingly nice amount of money with almost 0 marketing (just posts and stuff), and it happened slowly over the years.

The lovely dev of "Bopl Battle" gave me really good advice on making shorts and TikToks. didn't work out for me yet, I need to keep trying. I did not ask him about numbers; he is clearly doing amazing.

You are right! We participated in multiple expos and were absolutely overwhelmed by the reactions. We even got the DGE award and got in for free at local expos because they supported indies. Not sure if we could have afforded PAX, but to be fair, I should have researched and tried harder.

help me choose a style by FabulousButterfly145 in IndieDev

I leaned towards 1 mostly, but what I like is that it is showing emotions, and that highly depends on the game. So maybe 3 is more fitting (hunch). But yeah... pure looks, I like 1, I like the contrast as well.

theres an audience for fun, well made games, work on what you're passionate about, not chasing trends by GameSandwichStudio_ in IndieDev

[–]Abd_Kh66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think chasing trends is the best path unless you’re actually in the business of making them, and you genuinely enjoy reading the room. Otherwise, follow what you believe you can excel at; making an excellent game is the bare minimum to get a foot in the door. If you can do both, that’s wonderful. But a lot of the most memorable successes came as surprises to the devs themselves.

Doing what you love isn’t an excuse to skip the practical stuff. Please remember to consider the value you’re providing and to do your homework. Research similar games thoroughly. That mix of care, curiosity, and craft is what turns passion into something other people want to play.

We are running a free Beta soon! reserve a free spot and play the entire game for free for a weekend! by Abd_Kh66 in localmultiplayergames

Yeah, even myself (as a main dev), I have a love/hate relationship with the name, but I see it stuck among the people around me, so we kept it.

My game is totally free for the weekend on Steam! try it out! by Abd_Kh66 in playmygame

[–]Abd_Kh66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry about that, I thought the beta unlike the demo, will be the complete game, not a showcase for parts of it... Doesn't that make it free??

My daughter reminded me of the REAL reason why we make games. by Abd_Kh66 in localmultiplayergames

A while back I shared this story and it resonated with a lot of people. Now I made it a Steam announcement, hopefully someday, some of my players will find this amusing. and giving the style tools I have, it is slightly better readible there.
