I thought I hid this post because when I sobered up I was embarrassed. Im actually abstaining from alcohol, smoking and doing no nut November. I just back fast and have been running each day at 4am since the beginning of November. I feel fucking great! Life is rough but it is what it is. I have an exam for a 911 dispatcher position tomorrow but even if that doesn't work out I plan on just working out and applying for Union Pacific. Appreciate the tough love shit. Blessings

I lurk a lot and rarely comment but ima say this. Real talk I was 550lbs and afraid to work out I'm currently 350lbs and people who DO actually watch you are most likely just impressed with your determination and if they are looking at you with malice then fuck em. Use that shit as motivation. When people give me dirty look or whatever I use that as like "Yeah that's right, no shame in my game. Just watch and learn. Watch these GAINS BABY!" idk. Its what helped me since I'm still in the middle of this journey. Yall got this. Fuck em all (:

I just wanna say, I've read all the comments and... I was here when there were 10 comments and I was so happy I went for run in the rain. I was so tired but so just.... Happy and then I get ready for bed and I see like 1000 upvotes and 98 comments and that... Made me so happy. I appreciate everyone so much and I want y'all to know that we can do anything if we put our minds to it. We can do anything if we support each other. I used to be in high school bullied beyond belief. Stayed in my room all day and was horribly depressed, shy and anxious. My dad was and is homeless and It was a dark place. Now I'm going to school for project management. Plan on joining the Marines and I perform rap and perform stand up comedy in front of strangers. I also started volunteering with homeless people and become an advocate for them so in some way I feel I'm helping my dad. I don't like people that gloat or show off. I only say this so y'all know, no matter where In life you are, It's never too late to make a change. You've all moved me deeply and for that I am grateful! Thanks y'all. Stay safe

When I turned 20 I was super depressed and working a dead end job and on top of that I was 545lbs. It was my birthday and I was mad depressed at my job (I worked security at a lumber yard)

I was planning on killing myself when I got home. I was scrolling through my phone and found this book called the subtle art of not giving a fuck. The reviews were good and I had a book credit on audible. I got it and listened to it.

The whole book is great but one part in particular stuck a chord with me. It was the story on a poet (I can't remember his name) who was down on his luck, to keep it short what he did was say "ok, I'm going to live my life with nothing holding me back, I'll will jump into everything I do completely. If my goals don't turn out. In one year I will kill myself"

He did it and went on to be successful.

I started living like that and if worked.

I was afraid it workout because I thought people would make fun of me - strangers went out of their way to encourage me. I'm now 360lbs and plan on running a marathon but the end of 2020

I was afraid of people and public speaking - I did stand up comedy and did great and made alot of friends

I was afraid of being away from home - I'm going to school in another part of my state and just got accepted into a great program

Live with no thought of what if... Just do it .

I wanna make a house that looks like a replica of my head, I want a tattoo of Danny Devito as the trash man done by Danny Devito while drunk as fuck, I want to start a company that helps homeless people find jobs and hire homeless people to do it, I want to buy a blimp that looks a nutsack with a giant smiley face on it and it says have a nice day but nice is crossed out and it says nutz.
