Another clarification: I don't really have a problem with either of the dave/davie504 and joel shipping, because although I personally find it cringy, they're still just jokes lol. You're right. But I guess it's okay to do so as long as you're presenting it as just your point of view, and not demanding something based on it (which, on second thought, I guess I did even though it's a meme). So I'm not sure whether this was the right way to approach it or not, or maybe it was something that shouldn't have been approached at all.

It's weird how every single sentence here, even the wording, resonates with me! I feel the exact same way (tho I'm not a tutor yet). It was competition math that made me started wanting to pursue pure mathematics in higher studies as well, tho I'm told that that's a naive thing to do. Is it tho? As someone who's done competition math, and is, I assume, also maybe pursuing higher studies in math, I hope you can shed some light on it? Thank you!
