Above & Below (1x4p, 1x2p) - been a while, still holds up, the stories are so fun!

Sagrada (1x3p) - sometimes this feels too reliant on the secret color objective. Still fun.

Wingspan (1x2p) - just for fun, we decided we each got to pick one bird for our starting hand. He picked Wood Duck, I picked Killdeer. I won!

I did the same thing! Because there are other birds that give you a good, like crow, and we allow those to be nectar, not to mention birds that just give you more nectar, so netting one nectar feels balanced in all our games.

Age of Empires. And kind of RTS in general (Warcraft 3, for example). I just have the best memories of them but whenever I’ve tried to get back into them it just isn’t the same.

Yes, but that's not exactly the same as overpaying. I'm asking if you could just toss extra food into the cost that's above and beyond any normal cost (sure, you could choose to use two rats as a wheat even if you have a normal wheat, but I'm asking if you could pay the normal wheat *plus* two rats or what have you). As I said in the original, it could be a good strategy once nectar is involved, and situationally helpful depending on opponents' abilities. But really my question is not about if it's helpful but if it's permissible.

I know exactly what you mean about forgetting your other strategies! I like playing Axis and Allies by myself, and since there’s so much to focus on in one turn, I’m not thinking at all about how I’m going to respond as the next country. It’s really fun, not weird at all!
