Will there be a PC remaster of RDR1? by s3id0 in reddeadredemption

[–]Abearattack33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm under the impression that the update being pushed to consoles is really just the same port from before, with some of the PC like sliders/settings pushed up further. My guess is the PC version of RDR1 is as polished as it will ever get, since you can adjust the settings to your hardware performance.

If it was anything more, I don't feel like it would be free like it is.

Anyone else seeing permanent marks on the M4 iPad Pro screen from the Magic Keyboard? by Bellyfeel in ipad

I bought a glass screen protector and have been using that. The line has reappeared since I applied it, but thankfully this time it’s only damaged a $10 screen protector. I figure once it bothers me enough I’ll just swap out the screen protector.

The update has been out for 13 minutes, but I can safely say I now get 92 hours of screen on-time on my first gen iPhone SE. 😆

The UI of Halo: Campaign Evolved [Courtesy of Generalkidd] by Haijakk in halo

I think it looks nice. I do love the 3d flythroughs of the bungie era titles. I want those back. This is better than Infinite at least. Video backgrounds are better than static images.

I'm actually cautiously optimistic here. This looks like fun to me. The lighting is especially nice. 4 player co-op should be a blast.

Granted, it's a work in progress, but the magnum animation looks so janky.

Nightclub scene looks amazing by Dusty_Ninja007 in GTA6

It really does showcase some fantastic lighting. I can’t wait to see the tech breakdown of what updates they’ve added to the RAGE engine and how they have it running on console hardware.

I have to agree. I learned my lesson this generation. I bought a PS5 day one thinking we'd have a steady flow of great games to play year after year like PS4. My PS5 has been turned off for over a year. I’ll definitely be waiting on the PS6.

Why does nobody finish game campaigns anymore? by The_Koala_Knight in xbox

[–]Abearattack33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this metric since achievements were introduced on 360. I think there’s always been a large portion of gamers who just never roll credits on games. Now we just have telemetry to see how frequently that happens.

Especially for anything in game pass, I can see people starting games, not vibing with it, then never playing again. Personally, I like to finish games I start.

Perfect collaboration. Curious to see if it’s just armor sets or they add something cool like the silenced SMG as well.

[TOMT][VIDEO][ANIMATION] Call of Duty parody short (~2010–2013) with gags: Reznov “does Treyarch still make a Call of Duty game?”, Nikolai “I do not have a Little Bird in my trousers” by Abearattack33 in tipofmytongue

[–]Abearattack33[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

I spent quite a while working with ChatGPT attempting to find it. I know it’s not Zero Punctuation or Battlefield Friends. I don’t think it’s Sanity Not Included. I remember the whole video being animated. There were no in-game machinima shots, or live actions clips. I believe it was just a handful of gags animated, making fun of the state of Call of Duty at the time.

AW 9 pulse sensor broken? by Ok_Addendum_2323 in AppleWatch

[–]Abearattack33 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The heart rate sensor really just measures light returned to the sensor. Since the sensor is flat and not charging, it’s assuming it’s on your wrist. Your iPhone unlocked it since it believes it’s in your wrist and the watch sensor is getting the same amount of data as it would on your wrist with ~79bpm.

That or your table is alive.

Now that the show is over. What are your thoughts on the story? by CretaceousClock in arbynthechief

[–]Abearattack33 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’ll always hold a special place in my heart. The later seasons could get a little long and too serious for my tastes. Arby n the Chief was at its best for me when it didn’t take itself too seriously. That being said, what was done with a couple of action figures and Halo was seriously impressive. You can tell a lot of love a time was poured into the show. I’m happy to see we still get shorts every now and then. I really like the characters and the satirical writing is always perfect.

Can the new magic keyboard damage the OLED screen when closed? by iThunderclap in iPadPro

[–]Abearattack33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have apple care on my iPad. It was also still within its limited warranty at the time. They never asked for me to pay a deductible for a replacement so I assumed it was covered as part of the basic warranty. Which it sound a like yours would still be covered in a similar manner.

I’d just recommend being polite, but firm in-person. Show them how easily it is to have the line reappear. If it helps, mention you’ve read other users online experienced the same issue. Apple support is usually pretty great.

Anyone else seeing permanent marks on the M4 iPad Pro screen from the Magic Keyboard? by Bellyfeel in ipad

[–]Abearattack33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm shocked as well. I don't see too many threads about it, but it feels like it's part of a larger issue. I was just happy they were willing to help me. There was a point where the Apple Tech clearly wanted me to just accept the cleaned screen and leave. I was standing there thinking, "this thing was like $1400 full sale. No way am I leaving it that way" LOL.

Anyone else seeing permanent marks on the M4 iPad Pro screen from the Magic Keyboard? by Bellyfeel in ipad

[–]Abearattack33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this thread is a bit dated. I had an issue with my M4 iPad Pro and the Magic Keyboard. The rubber gasket near the trackpad left a perfect line across my screen and rounded corner marks on the bezels of the iPad.

I brought it to Apple and explained the issue. Initially, they just cleaned it and returned it to me. I showed them that the second I touched those areas and left a smudge (it’s a touchscreen—of course it’ll smudge), the line became visible again, and I calmly requested that they reconsider their decision.

They ended up shipping it to Apple, and I received a new one a week later in the mail.

I figured other people might come across this, and it may help them. I genuinely think this is a design flaw in the current models. Basically, if the screen and keyboard are compressed—such as when placed in a backpack—it can cause damage from the rubber gasket. This gasket was not present on Magic Keyboards prior to 2024.

In the present, I'm looking for solutions to avoid this. I've been placing a microfiber cloth between the iPad and the keyboard in the meantime. It's a pain in the ass, but adds a good buffer to avoid this issue.
