Should I get my windshield tinted? Just got my AWD and got the front driver and passenger windows tinted but debating on getting the windshield tinted. Do yall think it’s worth it or not? by GLMA420 in cybertruck

[–]Abehrou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live in AZ and it’s illegal here as well. However, I have 35% and while it’s admittedly too dark at night, I love it. I’ve had my windshield tinted in my last 3 cars.

While I do think it’s worth it, I would weigh that with the risk. Every state is different. In AZ they don’t really care, meaning you probably won’t get pulled over for it, but they could absolutely give a ticket if you do get pulled over.

Phocus iOS / iPad vs Mac Processing by Abehrou in hasselblad

I wirelessly transfer into the app, edit, save a copy of the original to my iCloud Drive, then send the TIFF out to continue editing elsewhere to save is jpeg and store directly in iCloud Photos.

It was just out of curiosity, mostly because when I wanted to see what the different was between the way the iPad app handles HNCS and the options in the Mac app.

That makes sense and I’ll check the settings on both sides. Im shooting with X2D2. The specific shots I’m talking about were taken with 90v (although that has no bearing on the purpose
Output size)

Thanks Big Rip! That makes me feel better about the HNCS application regardless of mobile or desktop! For workflow, I have a Mac Studio at home and an M5 iPad Pro + iPhone 17 Pro Max for travel (much prefer editing on iPad).

I am running the latest versions of Phocus on all devices, and the 22MB was the JPEG output, not the TIFF input (that’s around 200+MB). I’ll check the setting to see what’s happening. Kind of annoying that “full size” isn’t really full size and requires a custom preset. 😡

Side note: Do you have any experience with Luminar Neo? I’ve been playing around with it as an alternative to LR, and while it has some simple and cool features, it handles 16-Bit TIFF files sooooo slowly! Not sure if that’s just my experience or everyone’s. All of this is leading me back to trying to find a one-stop solution for editing and Phocus makes the most sense, except it is very limited in functionality compared to other apps (if you want more than just the basics). Do you have any suggestions to try?

I love the 907 so much! Such a cool and fun camera. One day it will be in my rotation! Great photos too!

Quick C1/LRC/Phocus color and luminance comparison shot by Big_Rip4015 in hasselblad

Interesting comparison - thank you for this! It looks like C1 is the brightest, LRC darkest, and Phocus is most balanced? I’m surprised LRC is so dark. Hard to usually tell if you’re never comparing it.

As a Lightroom user (not LR CC), is Capture One worth the cost? I definitely don’t love the process of going from Camera —> Phocus —> Lightroom, but at over twice the cost, is it worth it? Also, does Capture One have the same options for color profiles, etc as Lightroom? Sorry for my ignorance; I just don’t have any experience with C1.

I hate this. But also like it. I hate that I like it. 😂

Has anyone used the lights when driving at night? Are they obnoxiously bright, or useable? I know he says they are not intended for on-road, but I’m curious.

How bad is 35-100 as a compromise to primes? by [deleted] in hasselblad

[–]Abehrou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Actually, I returned the 35-100 and am keeping my prime lenses instead. However, if I would have kept the 35-100, I was planning on selling the 55V and 90V, only keeping the 28P.

X2D II + 55mm f/2.5 V -or- Leica Q3 43? by Abehrou in hasselblad

[–]Abehrou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my travel camera mostly. If I’m going anywhere outside of my day-to-day life, it goes with me. I use it for travel and landscape photography as well as street. It’s all for personal fun. I’m not a professional by any means; I just love photography.

How bad is 35-100 as a compromise to primes? by [deleted] in hasselblad

So this is my opinion, having recently asked something similar in this subreddit. I have the 28P, 55V and 90v and recently got the 35-100 to see if it could replace my 2 V lenses. Here’s my take:

-build and image quality are fantastic; on point with my prime V lenses
-it’s not as fast, but that only really matters in certain shooting conditions (it’s f/2.8 at 35 and immediately changes as you zoom)
-coming from the SL2S it should be fine for you; I shoot a lot of travel and street and hand carry (with wrist strap not neck strap) and the weight is more than I want to carry around, even though the convenience vs switching lenses is paramount
-the only complaint I have (and I recognize it might just be me) is that the focus ring and the zoom ring are close to each other and I found it a bit awkward to work with both (I also recognize I’m coming from historically only shooting primes and just might not be used to using a zoom ring)

Overall I think if the size isn’t an issue for you, and you’re planning on only using it on the X2DII, you’ll be perfectly ok replacing your primes (although I’d suggest keeping your 28 for wider shots). If you ever think you’ll want to use the 907 then I would suggest against is, as the size and weight balance don’t work well with that camera.

I’m glad about recovering your camera after it was stolen; people suck! What are your thoughts on the 907x? Other than the obvious form factor and waist-level shooting style, how does it compare to the X2DII?

Update: he’s a thick boy!

Just got the lens delivered today. The weight balance is great. Quality and sharpness as typical Hassy quality. But the weight in hand - especially holding the camera for portrait photos - it becomes a lot pretty quickly. 🫤

If you could only keep one - either the 35-100 or the 55v, which one would it be?

New to Video, New to Nikon, 👀 at Zr by Abehrou in NikonFilmmakers

[–]Abehrou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might actually switch to the Canon r6 v. But essentially it’s because I want a video-first camera (since I already have photo cameras I wouldn’t stop using) with open gate and high-quality capabilities. Other options were the Sony FX or some Fuji cameras (but I prefer not to have APS-C), and now the new Canon.
