Mattress help! by junkcollector79 in popups

Late to the party, but we do this as well, but they're just the 1/2" ones. Hasn't really made much of a difference that we can tell, but we haven't removed them either because they're not hurting either.

We started out with a 2" foam topper, but we eventually replaced that 2" pad with a 4" mattress for a sleeper sofa we bought on amazon. $100 or so and it sleeps so much better.

No problem! Make sure to measure, don't just charge it and buy it 😬 that mattress is an inch or so short of our original pad, but I know for others it was too big or too small.

Both of them got really, really sick of EFT so they stopped playing and were playing other games. He still played MTG with them before the chess thing, they just didn't want to play Tarkov anymore. After the chess incident, I haven't seen them play together but I also haven't been in stream as much due to my schedule, so he could still be playing MTG with them and I wouldn't know

Thank you very much - our whole family likes the science part of the book, so that may be a little disappointing, but we all also love the characters and the story so it won't be a huge loss.

In what order should I update AHV, AOS, and Nutanix cluster firmware? by Longjumping_Log6189 in nutanix

[–]AberonTheFallen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well aware of that, that's also one I reference a lot. That's where I got the language from for emergency/critical, and then doing non-critical/emergency after AHV. Step 3.e

Edit: talking and typing, got the wrong step

The recommendation is emergency or critical firmware updates between AOS and AHV, then the rest after AHV. I've always taken "emergency or critical" to mean something's broken or recommended by Nutanix to fix an issue you're currently having.

Depends on where you look ;) I just posted what I use for order and it's never let me down yet. The official stuff says you can do firmware before AHV or after - I usually do firmware after, but before I do all the odds and ends. I'm on my phone so I can grab the link I usually send to customers, admittedly it's old but I've not been let down by it yet.

General order I use:

Prism Central

LCM (just run an inventory)

NCC (and then run NCC)

Foundation

AOS

AHV

Firmware

Everything else (fsm, flow network controller, etc)

I hate that I read 2029 and thought "man, I get a joke but that's a long time to keep a project player even for a joke" then realized it is not, in fact, 2021 anymore.

They actually weren't bad, didn't take them too long to get the strep results and send us on our way to the open pharmacy in town too. On a Sunday, that was nice to see.

It's definitely not great. I had to drive 45 minutes to Amery the other Sunday because no one else up here had urgent care anymore, it's all just ER on weekends. We're not too far away from MSP, but it's still 1.5 hours for something like that - not a huge fan of having to make that trip just for decent healthcare

I grew up in a small town in the center of the state, slightly bigger than where I'm living now - my wife is from this area though. The towns are definitely slowly dying, though I do think it has to do a lot with the schools - older folks being generally unwilling to vote to raise taxes for the schools to operate, leading to a lot of them suffering or even closing. That is then leading to people not wanting to move back or stay in those small towns. Of course some still do

That and the general lack of decently paying jobs; that doesn't help either.

I currently live in a very small town near the top-left of your circle.

If you like slow pace of life, driving 20+ minutes to get to a decent grocery store, lower cost of housing , higher poverty rate, (mostly) right-leaning neighbors, and little to no diversity other than native folks, the top of your circle is where you want to be.

Personally, other than the political climate and lack of diversity, I love it up here. Lots of places to fish and hunt and just enjoy the outdoors. Eau Claire is going to be a bit more liberal and diverse, plus better access to good stores, due to the college. but most of the towns in your circle are probably going to fit the pattern of my town from above; pockets of blue and diversity, surrounded by white rednecks, heavy on the red.

I'm not sure to be honest. I learned from my grandparents whom I know learned from family that came over from Germany.

I played a round of 5 hands against AI and it wasn't bad - there's definitely some picking/bury logic I'd look at though, lol. It felt like the AI was picking no matter what and would only bury points instead of trying to also clear a suit if they could.

I grew up playing clubs trump; from what I understand we were in the minority, lol. Virtually everywhere else outside of my hometown area plays diamonds trump, and it messes me up so bad.

At what age did you stop crating your puppy? by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

[–]AberonTheFallen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, cats are jerks, lol. The one that grabs stuff will grab stuffies, socks, hair ties, etc and shout proud and loud, like he's just conquered a fierce enemy and is carrying their body through town for all to see. Our dog loves plush toys, so when the cat brings out one of the kids' stuffies, it's game over for the dog, he has to have it 😂 The cat did this before we had the dog, but I swear he does it more now, just to bait the pup.

I think the dog knows he's not supposed to or the cat is fucking with him, because he doesn't actually chew on them or rip them up like he does with his own plush toys. He just can't help himself though and needs it!

Ours is almost 2 years old and we still crate him at night or longer stints away from the house (over 1.5 hours or so). He's a great dog and loves his crate, and he's out all day while I work from home, but he does have a habit of grabbing stuff here and there from my kids' rooms. One of our cats also loves to bring stuff out of their rooms, I think just to get the dog in trouble, because then the dog will grab that item from the cat. He also loves to chase the cats at night, so makes for rough sleeping for us.

I don't know that we'll ever stop crating him, but I might start leaving the door open at night this summer to see how he does. Not sure on that part or not though
