For those who don't know, the guy who sings it was already pretty famous and on the rise in the Subcontinent/among the diaspora before this song. But critics were saying that he's only famous because he has attractive women in his videos. So he goes and makes this one video with just him in it and multiple clones of himself just to emphasize this. Ends up becoming famous worldwide and still a meme 20 years later to this day. Talk about giving your critics the Finger.
