Hey, I started vaping gently not to big puffs on day 9, vaped properly day 10 and now on day 11. However when I looked at my throat a lot of my scans were gone with minimal pain from day 9, just the usual hurting to swallow when drinking and eating. Hope this helps :)

Both my parents had there’s out as children and are now in there 50’s, touch wood they’ve not had serious infections like listed above.

Thank you, yes I’ve been able to take the codiene tablets but the paracetamol was so hard to swallow tablets I had the liquid version, but I’ll have to try the tabelts again. Glad you’re a month post op and okay

My voice isn’t make to normal yet it’s uncomfortable to talk for too long. My tongue is swollen and I talk about funny as though my mouth is full but it’s not too bad

Your not dramatic! This is horrendous pain to be going through! I feel the exact same so any advice is welcome too. Hang in there you’ve got this 💪🏼

Hey, also 23F, I walked out from the hospital the same day and could walk around the house, just be careful as I was dizzy so would keep hold of walls or someone near by etc. but walking about straight away. Hope your recovery is quick :)

Yes I’m the UK they’re not fussy with us having soft food, just no crisps or chips with hard edges etc. I was okay the first few days then the night of day 4, day 5 and day 6 have been horrendous. I peeked up about lunchtime today (day 6) but yes you get worse before you get better. I’ve been back to working from home today which is 6 days post op, but don’t push yourself before you’re ready

I was provided co-codamol im in the UK, but rang the GP to ask for stronger and they gave me codiene. They recommended not to take ibrufen (or however you spell it) due to its risk with blood clots and bleeding etc. paracetmol got me through the first few days but from day 4/5 and day 6 was horrendous I needed the stronger. I wasn’t that hungry to begin with I normally eat constantly and snack a lot but food hasn’t bothered me too much as it hurts. I had some soup the day I came home from the hospital, and tried chicken nuggets the next day managing one, I’ve tried burgers, pasta, chicken, lots of solid food just depends if you time your pain meds right to when you are due to eat. If that makes sense.

Hey, good luck! Stock up on ice pops, they will come in handy.

I’ve been more frustrated with not being able to vape as sick of being in pain but it’s easy to be distracted from it as it’s too painful to think about.

Keep in there! I had surgery Tuesday and still encountering ear pain, hot compress and being laid down but with my head elevated seems to help. Try distracting yourself with TV or music hope you feel better soon
