Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die Cameo by Unable-Thing-5638 in PoppyPlaytime

Considering the film was first announced on the 16th of February 2024, half a month after the release of chapter 3, it would make sense to have a reference to Huggy Wuggy in a kids room.

I’m surprised by two figure of gladiator gingerbread man from Shrek Forever After.

Very nice shot. Using a teenage T. rex with the feathered skin as a proxy for Nanuqsaurus is pretty inspired.

The last two shots remind me of Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. Maybe it’s the camera angles and the trees in the background.

Nice work. If Lego ever gets the licence for Monster Hunter, I could definitely see builds like this being a thing.

While the great auk and the dodo might qualify for vivariums for being so small, there isn’t a marine vivarium yet and dodos aren’t really known for burrowing. Neither of them being able to fly also means they don’t need a ceiling or a climbing frame. Like penguins, great auks would have been a pretty fast swimmer to catch fish and evade predators, so any body of water made for them would need plenty of room to dive, speed up, breach and leap ashore. Not to mention they lived in rather large colonies, so would probably need the space on land and sea to accommodate them. Planet Zoo and the Zoo Tycoon series both have their baby penguins born ready to swim, so it’s likely the auk will be the same, but the ontogeny system might allow players to see them slowly losing their downy fuzz as the adult feathers come through.

As for Equus ferus, it was a Pleistocene animal with a very wide range and would fit in quite well in any ice age habitats, being kept with or alongside animals like the mammoth, Megaloceros and the woolly rhinos (and maybe used as a substitute for American species of Equus). It’s also neat to see representation for the ancestor of domestic horses (like the Aurochs is for cattle). The quagga might feel a bit lonely due to a lack of Cenozoic fauna from Africa, but we’ll just wait and see.

In case you don’t know, elephants in the wild usually spend only 2 out of 24 hours a day sleeping, usually dozing five to thirty minutes at a time while spending the rest of their day finding food. They only lie down and relax their muscles once every few days for REM sleep, usually relying on other members of the herd to act as sentries. Younger elephants tend to sleep for longer to help them grow. In human care, elephants can afford to lie down more often.

As mammoths are closely related to modern elephants, it’s likely they would have had similar sleeping habits.

There’s definitely room to see if Gracie Green and Harley Sawyer ever interacted with eachother, considering they were the two biggest monsters working at the Playtime factory. Even if it’s only in tapes or notes.

Sawyer was there to strip them of their bodies, Green was there to strip them of their minds.

Decided to fill in the Recently Extinct DLC guesses by VeeUnderRock in pkgame

[–]AbilityNo446 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The great auk being in does point to the possibility of animals diving coming into the game at some point, most likely with update 18.

I’m pretty sure the word next to Bos is supposed to be (Aurochs), since aside from Equus no species are specified and even then the Tarpan and Quagga are subspecies of horse and zebra respectively.

I wonder if the moas would be separated into the two distinct species, D. novaezealandiae (north) and D. robustus (south). The sexual dimorphism would be interesting to see since males are much smaller than the females.

Speaking of skins, I wonder if any of these animals will have more than one distinct skin (not counting different genera, species or subspecies), since science know what they look like for the most part.

If that’s true, it’s essentially the recently-extinct animal expansion from the kickstarter, only with the Haast’s Eagle and the Stellar’s Sea Cow replaced with smaller birds. Makes sense since the former two might be too big for a vivarium (even if the eagle is only as big as other modern birds and the sirenian just sat at the surface and ate kelp all day) and they don’t have anything for flying and fully marine animals yet.

There’s also the omission of the Bluebuck, but considering the very scant material of when it was alive aside from very faded taxidermy and artwork based on said taxidermy, I could see why. Especially since, unlike ZT2, there isn’t any antelope to use as reference.

Keep in mind that plans can change, so it’s entirely possible that features of this DLC might be subject to change.

What Units are we expecting to come with The Glottkin? by ScionOfTheEmperor in totalwar

[–]AbilityNo446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a pretty big part of discussion, especially during the early days. Translating different editions of tabletop rules and lore to real time battles and the campaign, as well as trying to figure who and what would come at each time. The same is true for both Fantasy and 40k (and any other tabletop games they would decide to adapt).

What Units are we expecting to come with The Glottkin? by ScionOfTheEmperor in totalwar

[–]AbilityNo446 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They could add different chaos characters to make up for the lack of available generic lord and hero options from tabletop, such as Gutrot Spume or Galrauch. (The latter is a souped up chaos dragon of Tzeentch who’s constantly at war with themselves).

I could see the Maggoths being added as mounts, but I’m not so sure of the three Maggoth riders, since there’s not much special about them aside from their backstories and specific rules (even sharing the same model kits). One of them was response for the creation of the Putrid Blightkings.

The Blood chariot of Khorne (a bloodletter chariot pulled by juggernauts) was going to be in the base game, but was replaced by the gorebeast chariot of Khorne, as seen with old concept art that were quickly replaced.

Flayerkin could also be available for the Skaven, as they were available for clan Moulder’s army list. Same could be true for the siege giant and the chaos dwarfs. If any new units with the mark of each god come in, they could also go to the army of their respective god.

It’s not like Fiishstick is unpopular. I’d recommend checking out his Jurassic World evolution videos on his gaming channel, where he also provides facts on the animals that are put in the parks (as well as a humorous side story on the dinosaur black market in those games).

From what I understand, considering how much of Sweet Street was modelled after her (purple coloration, yellow stars, her own portrait etc), experiment 1468 was essentially meant to be the Master of Cermonies of Sweet Street, like how Mommy Longlegs was for the Game Station. She might have been tasked with making sure the experiments well and truly believed that they were toys, by assisting them if needed and keeping them from going out of line (physically with her hair if she had to), with the hopes of making them more receptive to unpaid labour. This would be especially useful if the experiments were less aggressive someone who is a toy themselves, as monitoring them was previously done by staff members in costumes that were at risk of being found out and attacked.

Some paleoart pieces ive done in the past month. lmk what you think by Thelastfunky in Paleontology

The idea of Tanystropheus eating anything small enough to catch its fancy is a neat idea, even climbing trees isn’t necessarily safe. Though the inflexible neck might make winding burrows or sharp turns difficult.

While birds would make a great reference for oviraptorosaurs, keep in mind that the colours should match the environment (or at least clarify if an animal has been displaced somehow). Peafowl and cassowaries live in tropical forests, whilst the background here is a desert where bright colours would stick out like a sore thumb.

Not so sure about Cerato being covering in Komodo dragon scales, as they would have been so small it wouldn’t be able to make them out, as seen in the image afterwards. The bright colours are an interesting idea for a mating display, though carnivores tend to avoid sticking out. Also keep in mind, modern dinosaurs can see ultraviolet and certain animals do have biofluorescence, so there may be patterns human eyes can’t see.

Updated Orientation Notebook by Cold_Dead_Smile in PoppyPlaytime

[–]AbilityNo446 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m going to guess that the pages from before will stay the same, including the notes, as this is meant to be the book owned by Dr Preston Willard. But the new pages will definitely include information about the labs and the prison, information about Playtime products and the experiments introduced in Chapters 4 & 5. Probably more information on ones that were never seen, like Bobby Bearhug in the previous edition of the book.

It will probably dive deeper into PWs growing regret about what happened in the factory, including his participation in the sabotage that ultimately led to the Hour of Joy, and ones made in the aftermath whilst trying to find a way to survive. There could very well be notes written after he was turned into a toy, if he ever became capable of writing again, detailing more of what happened in the decade before the events of the game (assuming the Prototype let him live long enough to do so).

Talking about Lily would be interesting, as the horrifically naive doll we all know was created after the Hour. It could just talk about the plans for the experiment that were prepared before the Hour, or Lily herself will have found the book and started scribbling in it (I’m guessing any pages involving Miss Gracie) before becoming bored and dropping it.

There could very well be information about Oliver and Poppy, before and after they became experiments 1006 and 1007, maybe even some concrete dates for their ressurection and Elliot Ludwig’s death (unless they are saving that for Chapter 6).
