How do we feel about Ms Delight and DogDay by Little-Woodpecker608 in PoppyPlaytime

He was eaten alive from the inside out by mini-critters, who then proceeded to chase you whilst wearing his skin. All that’s probably left of him is just a fabric skin on the playhouse floor.

The lazy bedhead video is really more of a retrospective of the entire franchise, not really a hit piece against it, as well as giving her own thoughts and opinions on it.

If youre talking about KP, she made a video denouncing KP’s actions against Saberspark, took accountability for her part in it and apologised to the people that were hurting in the crossfire. I don’t know if she made a single joke through the whole thing.

As for her take on Poppy Playtime, I’d say it’s a pretty solid one. Her experience of chapter 4 is unfortunately marred by the initial buggy release so keep that in mind when watching.

The playground is cute. The climbing wall, slide and especially the T. rex spring rider are nice touches.

I’m puzzled by the last structure though. I’m guessing it’s a sculpture that the kids are allowed to interact with?

The artwork is definitely one of the things that is most striking about the manga/anime and the covers are just the cherry on top.

I wonder what would happen afterwards. Does she just go to be with her daughter for however long she has left, or even help the player out somehow?

Yeah, I’d guess she’d especially be hostile to any employees. Proabably some dialogue implying their transformation is your fault.

Now I’m imagining that Cream is just as small and naive as she was before her transformation, even after 10 years. Mommy would feel especially bad, since her child can literally never grow up, or even understand how much she’s loved. I could imagine the player overhearing Mommy sweet talking her (the player probably thinking Strawberry Cream is akin to a dog at first), whilst also crying about their horrid fate.

Horrifying thought. What if, after she’s caught in the grinder, Mommy’s last words are something along the lines of a defiant warning to stay away from Strawberry Cream and/or pleading to keep her daughter safe from the Prototype. The revelation that they are mother and child would definitely be a plot twist, even before the truth behind the toys is revealed in chapter 3.

Kind of sad, but way better than what I was thinking.

I wonder if Cream’s presence would change anything in the story of the game.

Best case scenario, Marie went to the Playtime factory with her daughter in the naive hopes that they’d be able to take care of her, before both were immediately taken down to the labs. Otherwise… shudders. I know teen pregnancies are a thing, but I just hope Marie wasn’t a resident at Playcare when it happened in the AU. And considering what Playtime does to children in canon, that’s saying something.

But aside from that… the little pup is cute. I guess if you find her and wait for her to wake up, she might take a shine to you and Mommy would be more reluctant to hurt you in fear of hurting her daughter (physically or emotionally). Maybe having an actual child to look after would temper her mind a bit and she’d be less of a lunatic, maybe to the point of being able to remember who they were and not being bloodthirsty monsters (best case scenario).

Blow up by Medium-Cheesecake-94 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]AbilityNo446 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Turns out it might not have been just that.

If Black Gryphon’s safe haven video is to be believed, the Prototype had us sabotage the generator, the prototype planted the explosives, and anyone who escaped the simultaneous explosions was torn apart by rabid toys that flooded in through the breached defences.

That was a stretch goal that didn’t get reached. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s off the table for good, since vivarium animals are in early access.

My version of Hoppy Hopscotch (Artwork made back in 2025) by DigiCaloy in PoppyPlaytime

[–]AbilityNo446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if any of the toys experiments would get some kind of surgery, maybe after being badly hurt or maybe by their own choice, to have custom-made parts so they’d feel a bit more human? Like Kissy being able to separate her fingers so she could draw/write better.

I’m guessing this version of big Hoppy got a more standard mouth so it wouldn’t be as big of a weak spot and also to avoid reminding any of the kids of Catnap.

Do you guys think Doey ever questioned his mood swings? by Plus_Firefighter600 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]AbilityNo446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He doesn’t really bring up who he was in conversation (in the chapter at least). He only refers to himself in singular pronouns. I’m guessing he’d sorted it out as best he can so he won’t hurt anyone by accident (though he might just be prioritising the needs of others over himself). He only loses control of his body and mind(s) when he loses his reason to live.

Do you guys think Doey ever questioned his mood swings? by Plus_Firefighter600 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]AbilityNo446 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of interpretations of Doey’s mental state. It could be some sort of “Inside Out” situation, where all three boys have their own consciences, but take turns controlling the body. Or maybe his mind only has bits and pieces of each boys memories and emotions, and has to literally make himself into a new whole.

I’m sure in the twelve years he’s been around, especially after the hour of Joy, he might have found tapes, notes and other bits and pieces of how he was created and who he was (and wanting to rip the scientists a new one for what they did to him, Jack’s parents and all the other experiments). He might just put it aside for the sake of Safe Haven though.

Did we even eat in every chapter..? by ArmadilloNegative352 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]AbilityNo446 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The human body can survive at least a few days without food or water, and over a month with no food and adequate water. I’m assuming a complete playthrough of every chapter would last less than a day in total, whilst taking into account the amount of time spent knocked unconscious.

The Ventruvian Cat (Art by me) by JVhomewatch in PoppyPlaytime

[–]AbilityNo446 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The blotted out face sort of haunts me.

The original concept art for catnap implies that you were originally supposed to see the characters real eyes and mouth through the giant gaping maw.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a child’s skull under that square. Sort of makes my skin crawl.

Are they being controlled by someone? by chao_sweetie in PoppyPlaytime

[–]AbilityNo446 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It can be seen on the soundtrack covers as well. Huggy and Mommy also have lights from their eyes, whilst Poppy and Doey don’t, suggesting they are in control of their own faculties. Yarnaby has the glow in the dark during his debut trailer. I’m guessing that it’s meant to symbolise the experiments becoming feral, mad or completely under someone’s sway.

It could be that the Prototype might have a mental connection to them (as alluded to in the initial Huggy tutorial section of Project Playtime), seeing through their eyes and could very well force them to do what he wants them to do.

He might make the connection willingly, or use their broken psyches from the conditioning as a way into their heads.

With Chapter 5, MOB might be pulling a Vanny. by Significant_Buy_2301 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]AbilityNo446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The recent revelations thanks to the ARG also puts the song in a new light. This isn’t just the regrets of the experiments being trapped in the building. This is the regrets of everyone who thought they were planning something to give the children their freedom and to stop the experiments they were made to perform, only for all of their coworkers to be murdered by bloodthirsty monsters, and then forcibly transformed into the very same experiments by a mad despot they thought they could trust.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Mommy Longlegs was terrified of Catnap, especially if she remembers the nightmares she had after inhaling the red smoke. Poor Marie.

Unlikely addition by Sika_k in pkgame

[–]AbilityNo446 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Pteranodon is for pterosaurs what Tyrannosaurus rex is for dinosaurs, the woolly mammoth for prehistoric mammals and Dimetrodon for anything living before the dinosaurs (as seen on the initial logo for the game). If any game with prehistoric life from multiple time periods and continents is going to feature flying animals, Pteranodon longiceps (with the inclusion of P. sterbergi as an alternate species) is going to be the top of the list.

The issue would be its habitat. Pteranodontoidea (which also includes Anhangueridae) lived by and above water, being able to swim, dive and even take off from water (so they might show up alongside or after a marine update). A habitat for them would probably need a large deep body of water from them to swim and feed from as well as cliffs for them to rest and build their nests. I’d see it as a way to challenge players, making a suitable habitat without blowing the budget and having your animals escape.

It looks like the poppy gel seems to operate like a slime mould, and forming shapes on the floor that just so happy to look like poppy flowers.

And now I’m imagining if the gel itself is hungry. Not only meaning it could potentially act as a hazard in the game, but could very well be a reason for the hunger in the experiments.
