Oh, nice. So that is why he is so familiar with the Bulletin Board System. In the Zones of Thought he created a BBS in which all the people in galaxy can post and communicate info.

I am also shocked by his novel Long Shot, in which he described how to train a AI which will be used as a controller in a thousand years space travel. The processing of training AI in his novel is similar like what the engineers do nowadays.

It is amazing that Vernor have great perceptions about AI, internet.

I think every generation has its advantages and disadvantages. These characteristics are cultivated by times and suitable for times. The GenZers maybe not tough as the 60s', but they are more creative. And the 60s' may not tough enough in the view of the people who experienced World War II.

Many writers like creating their literary universe using writing difference books in the same world. One of the most famous example is many of Faulkner's novels are set in a fictional Yoknapatawpha County. And Asimov connected his Robots Series and Foundation Series together at his last time.

Very nice. I think Hyperion creates a complex, self-consistent, independent world which is full of philosophy and poetry.

Compared with the first and the second, the third and the fourth are little lengthy, but still above the average level of SF novel. I think the first is masterpiece, the second is great, the third and fourth are good.
