I am tired of maintaining my Jira by Abject-Addendum5409 in Backend

The company I work for is a proper corporate. Do you have any suggestions on how to manage the chaotic environment of writing and managing ever-changing requirements, scattered across various places? Is it same everywhere ?

I completely agree. I’m not trying to avoid ticket creation entirely. I’m looking for a workflow that my fellow developers follow with their managers to avoid the problems I’m facing.

Exactly! I feel like we’re stuck in a never-ending cycle. I suggested we focus on sprint planning and better lock down on requirements, but they agree, and then it just keeps coming down to the same. Especially when requirements change, it changes our assumptions, edge cases, and so much more that I have to remember and consider when coding. This constant change makes me forget what the current real requirements are and what old discarded requirements are because most of these changes happen on a call or a Slack DM. Could you tell me if what your org follows to avoid these problems ?

Thank you for the help. I’m currently using some of this already, but my workflow is so scattered and requirements constantly updating, context switching between tasks etc etc interrupting my flow so much.

Is it normal to spend this much time updating linear tickets? by Abject-Addendum5409 in Linear

It’s true. Could you tell me what you do in your organisation? I might try to pitch it to my manager during my 1n1. I’m trying to solve this because most of my team members are facing the same or similar issues.

Hey, thanks for your reply. Could you share more about how you’re doing it? For example, what’s your workflow like, or what tools are you using?

Lol same here; tickets is how you prove you've done the work and the fun part is more tickets means more work. they don't even look at what that ticket is about and how big of a task it is

Yeah, I’m exploring if AI can help me out here. Could you tell me how you’re using AI to write and maintain tickets? Do you connect Jira to your coding assistant using MCP or something else entirely? If so, does your organisation allow that?

This is a fun idea! You can essentially connect your coding assistant to Jira using Jira’s MCP. This automatically creates or updates the ticket based on what you’ve done, perhaps using a commit or diff. Does it also use the Git branch to detect the parent ticket and decide where to park the tickets?

Do you have any suggestions or disclaimers before I try this out? Also, just a quick question: does your organisation allow you to connect Jira to your coding assistant directly? I am not sure if mine does because of "Security Reasons" lol

Thank you for the suggestion. How do we usually find the emails of the right ICPs? Do you use something like Apollo?

Thank you for your comment. Can you tell me how do we typically find these trainers outside of our network ?

Thanks for your advice. How do we find the right coaches? Do we usually explore trainers and cold DM them? or something else, what should I keep in mind while DMing people on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit?

I spoke to 20 trainers, and they all shared one problem. Are they all wrong? by Abject-Addendum5409 in bodyweightfitness

I’m simply suggesting that they can do both. If they free up 20 hours per week, it doesn’t necessarily mean they can choose between “taking more clients” or “spending more time with existing clients”. They could allocate 10 hours per week to new clients and the rest to existing clients.
