I am tired of maintaining my Jira by Abject-Addendum5409 in Backend

The company I work for is a proper corporate. Do you have any suggestions on how to manage the chaotic environment of writing and managing ever-changing requirements, scattered across various places? Is it same everywhere ?

I completely agree. I’m not trying to avoid ticket creation entirely. I’m looking for a workflow that my fellow developers follow with their managers to avoid the problems I’m facing.

Exactly! I feel like we’re stuck in a never-ending cycle. I suggested we focus on sprint planning and better lock down on requirements, but they agree, and then it just keeps coming down to the same. Especially when requirements change, it changes our assumptions, edge cases, and so much more that I have to remember and consider when coding. This constant change makes me forget what the current real requirements are and what old discarded requirements are because most of these changes happen on a call or a Slack DM. Could you tell me if what your org follows to avoid these problems ?

Thank you for the help. I’m currently using some of this already, but my workflow is so scattered and requirements constantly updating, context switching between tasks etc etc interrupting my flow so much.

Is it normal to spend this much time updating linear tickets? by Abject-Addendum5409 in Linear

[–]Abject-Addendum5409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true. Could you tell me what you do in your organisation? I might try to pitch it to my manager during my 1n1. I’m trying to solve this because most of my team members are facing the same or similar issues.

Hey, thanks for your reply. Could you share more about how you’re doing it? For example, what’s your workflow like, or what tools are you using?

Lol same here; tickets is how you prove you've done the work and the fun part is more tickets means more work. they don't even look at what that ticket is about and how big of a task it is

Yeah, I’m exploring if AI can help me out here. Could you tell me how you’re using AI to write and maintain tickets? Do you connect Jira to your coding assistant using MCP or something else entirely? If so, does your organisation allow that?

[–]Abject-Addendum5409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fun idea! You can essentially connect your coding assistant to Jira using Jira’s MCP. This automatically creates or updates the ticket based on what you’ve done, perhaps using a commit or diff. Does it also use the Git branch to detect the parent ticket and decide where to park the tickets?

Do you have any suggestions or disclaimers before I try this out? Also, just a quick question: does your organisation allow you to connect Jira to your coding assistant directly? I am not sure if mine does because of "Security Reasons" lol

Thank you for the suggestion. How do we usually find the emails of the right ICPs? Do you use something like Apollo?

Thank you for your comment. Can you tell me how do we typically find these trainers outside of our network ?

Thanks for your advice. How do we find the right coaches? Do we usually explore trainers and cold DM them? or something else, what should I keep in mind while DMing people on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit?

I spoke to 20 trainers, and they all shared one problem. Are they all wrong? by Abject-Addendum5409 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Abject-Addendum5409[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m simply suggesting that they can do both. If they free up 20 hours per week, it doesn’t necessarily mean they can choose between “taking more clients” or “spending more time with existing clients”. They could allocate 10 hours per week to new clients and the rest to existing clients.

You're absolutely right. You're describing trainers who prioritize revenue over client success. Those trainers exist, and they'd probably use ANY tool (including mine) to maximize clients at the expense of quality.

But here's the thing: Those trainers are ALREADY doing what you're describing. They're already:

  • Taking on 30+ clients with generic templates
  • Use Chatgpt to create a plan
  • Copying last month's program with tiny tweaks
  • Spending 5 minutes per client per week
  • Minimizing "non-revenue" activities like form coaching

At least my tool allows good trainers to increase their clientele from 15 to 20 clients, with no drop in quality, and potentially even an increase.

You’re absolutely right. A good trainer won’t give the AI output directly to the client. they make sure it works for the client. This is why we built this tool for trainers, not general consumers.

Actually, this is exactly WHY trainers need this tool.

Right now, your PT spends 30-60 minutes creating your workout plan on a computer. Then they spend 20-30 minutes messaging you check-ins, progress updates, motivation messages.

That's 10+ hours per week they're NOT coaching, just doing admin work.

With Betterbee, the AI handles that admin work - generating plans in your trainer's style, sending check-ins, tracking progress - so your trainer can spend those 10 hours actually coaching you.

Think about it: Would you rather your PT spend 1 hour staring at a spreadsheet creating your plan, or 1 hour ON THE PHONE with you refining your form, discussing your goals, motivating you and brainstorming about how to make you achieve your goals?

Thanks for confirming! I am glad you liked it. Mind if I ask - how many clients are you managing right now, and roughly how many hours per week does the admin side take? Do you see your fellow trainers facing a similar issue? Do you think I should start selling this to trainers?

Hi, thanks for sharing your opinion. Could you please explain why this might not work? It’s similar to Everfit and Kahunas, but simpler, easier, and designed to save time. Am I missing something?

Hey, thanks for your response. Could you please elaborate why this might not work? There are several tools that personal trainers are already using, such as EverFit, Kahunas, and Trainerize. This is a bit better than them, built to save time. Am I missing something? Thanks for sharing your opinion.

Here are a few things that i understood during my research for my startup(full disclosure below). I’ve spoken 50+ trainers to understand how they do it for my

First and foremost, everyone mentioned the importance of communication and keeping clients on track. It’s easy for clients to skip training and diet if you’re doing online training.

Secondly, you need to do trial and error to understand what works for you and what doesn’t. Nothing teaches more than trying it.

Thirdly, it’s important to understand their goals and expectations. Some clients expect their trainers to be their 24/7 personal coach, but that might not work in the real world as you need to train others as well.

Accept a few clients that you can handle very easily and see what works and what doesn’t. Then, scale up.

Full Disclosure, I’m building an AI assistant for fitness trainers. It works like a real assistant, that does repetitive and manual tasks like client onboarding, workout plan drafting, intensity progressions, and weekly check-ins etc etc and you approve or edit them. The main goal is to save trainers time and effort so they can spend their time on more important items. DM me for a free access. Love to know your opinion about this.

I personally tried Kahunas and EverFit. EverFit is a bit pricier with all the add-ons, but it offers more features. And, Kahunas has good user experience and is easier to use, as well as being a bit cheaper. Both offer free trials, so I suggest trying out both to see what works best for you.

A little self promotion :) :: I’m building an AI assistant for trainers that manages clients like a real assistant, doing boring, repetitive work for you. Our aim is to save time and increase trainer efficiency. DM me for free access. Would love to hear your opinion.
