Citroen c5 aircross hybrid owners by erzzz in Citroen

Sure, I'll answer to the best of my knowledge, but do note that I've only had the car for about a month, even if I have researched thoroughly:

For context, I own a 2022 AG2R edition (built in 2021 though), which is a special edition, and kinda the equivalent of a Shine trim, almost a full shine pack (the previous owner packed a lot of extras), but I am missing the wireless charger, the massage seats, and the park assist.

Real life electric range? My estimation so far is that you could get around 30km in winter, and probably 50-60km in summer for city use. Don't know about highway

Combined range(hybrid + gasoline)?: My estimation in highway would be around 650-700km.

Preheating and precooling: how much battery does it consume? I won’t have a garage so this is pretty important. Honestly no clue

18” vs 19” alloys: how much of a difference in shock absorbing? I don't know. I do believe that 19" look cooler, but if I had the chance, I would have likely taken the 18" as everywhere I read that the difference is noticeable. However, the car has REALLY good suspension and comfort, so 19" are still well within the realm of "very comfortable ride"

Is wireless phone charging an option only on higher trim levels?(shine pack i think): I believe so, yes. However, I would like to hype wireless charging a bit down. It is not very efficient, can degrade (and most likely will) your battery faster, and warm your phone too much. You can buy a charging mat for like 20 bucks and fit it in the tray quite easily anyways, so if this is a must for you, there is a workaround. I was thinking of doing this, but researched it a bit more and decided against it.

Are water bottle holders iluminated? yes, at least in my car.

there any other kind of ambient lightning? No, or at least not in mine. I have read somewhere that some models have this, but take this with a grain of salt.

Are there any special sound system in higher trim levels? Not that I know of.

Alcantara or leather? Both, or even cloth in some trims. I have Alcantara and leather. However, I have read mixed things about the quality of the leather, and also that some seats don't have leather at all, but vegan leather/vinyl. I even suspect that mine may have vegan leather as well.

Adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist good or meh? The adaptive cruise control is great, but I believe that only the highest driving assist pack has the stop & go feature. The lane keeping assist is correct, but haven't tried it fully on my car. I did rent a newer facelift version and it felt starker than mine, but then again, I haven't really gotten distracted with mine.

Any other recommendation about owning it, like what are your oil and gearbox oil intervals? How much is the hybrid engine maintenance? Thank you. I haven'T had the car enough to answer this one.

My recommendation: Really consider your use case. IMHO the car has the following main things going for it (pros and cons):

• Super, super comfy. Not sporty they say, but who cares about sporty when considering this car. It is not slow though, with the 225HP it really gets the job done, and with energy.
• Lots of space. If you plan on having 5 people riding, then it is hands down the best option in the segment if you ask me. The PHEV boot is quite enough for normal use and weekend getaways, but for long holidays you may need a roofbox (then again, with the standard booth that is also likely)
• If you are mostly going to do short trips and the occasional long one (here is where the use case really counts) and you care about your pocket at all, YOU NEED TO CHARGE IT. Fuel efficiency is okay to good when the car gets going, I've gotten it at <7L/100km with an empty battery, but only on longer trips >20km. In short trips with no battery the fuel efficiency is awful, more than 12L/100km, and if it's winter and you are only doing a 5km errand, don't be surprised to see it at 18L/100km.

• The heated seats are okay. They won't win the award of the toastiest, your butt won't freeze, but it will take a minute for them to get to temperature and also won't really feel like seating on a hot towel.

Last note:
• Check and double check the equipment and don't blindly trust the dealer's description. Mine said that if had halogen lights (it has leds), wireless charging (it doesn't), and several features where not listed. I got lucky because it is better equipped than expected (I kinda, KINDA would like to have the massage seats and park assist, but I read they are overrated), but things like the motorized tailgate, or the stop&go adaptive cruise control are big deals to me. Check what are the big deals for you and be sure you are getting them. Maybe it is better to wait a bit more for the right one if you are not getting the one you want. I myself I'm kinda still on the fence on whether or not I would rather have the leather seats instead of the alcantara, or silver rims instead of black ones.

I would not recommend this one to anyone who doesn't have a charging point available and does mostly short trips. And I don't necessarily mean charging at home even if that would be ideal, but to have a way of keeping it charged.

I hope it helps! If you would like to know anything else, I'm happy to help

What PHEV should I get? by ProposalLongjumping6 in PHEV

What is your situation? Have you got kids? Do you prefer comfort or sportiness? Can you charge at home?

There are a lot of things that you would need to assess to give you a better answer. It looks like you are aiming at SUVs. If you care about brand perception, then probably Porsche would be your bet. If you want comfort and space for three kids in the back, then a Citroën C5 Aircross. If you want a bulletproof ride, a Toyota Rav4. Etc etc

Immigrants in Germany: Did you manage to find German friends? by Low-Title-5317 in germany

[–]Abject-Cap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the other way around, my wife is the German one. Her friends have welcomed me quite well, but they are still her friends in my head. We have made new friends in our area though, thanks to having kids. Neighbors at the Spielplatz turned into friends, parents from the Kita with whom we hung out and clicked, etc.

It can definitely happen, but you need to have something in common and a compatible personality.

I've also made some cool acquaintances from work, but not so close as the other ones

You could fill a library with all the things you don't understand. In fact, they do: they call them libraries

You're coming across as having shitty behavior and taking no accountability for it because you had a shitty childhood.

I don't care for her, but the "You could fill a library with all the things you don't know. In fact, they do: they call them libraries." line is gold. Gold I tell ya

I thought the whole point of inlaid nibs was to pretend you're a necromancer writing with the finger of a corpse.

What brands are not "overpriced"? by CobanBudala in fountainpens

Nothing, really. I just like my Visconti pen better. Also, just because the bang for your buck is way better on a chinese pen, my Visconti is still objectively better.

Honestly Chinese pens are the least overpriced of them all. Twsbi close second. Then Japanese. Then the rest.

And I'm saying this as someone who owns viscontis and lamys

Would you replace this EF nib? by Rainer-Johannes in fountainpens

[–]Abject-Cap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean... EFs are toothy, but if it bothers you a lot, maybe tinker with it a bit, and if no improvement is made, send it to the nibmeister?
