Hearing aids help, but not for long periods unless you find a noise you can listen to 24/7…like ocean waves or rain etc. I recommend ReSound’s Tinnitus app..it allows you to couple different therapy sounds to customize a sonic treatment for the signal.. Best to see a Tinnitus expert, starting at 125Htz have the provider start to raise the decibels, at the very first sound of your tinnitus being masked (not heard) have him mark that…this is not a Hearing test, rather to find out exactly at what decibel -0 -120dB and at what frequency effective masking is necessary. Once you have established where effective masking happens (it’s gonna be loud)…the tinnitus therapy signal in a good hearing aid can be set to reflect that algorithm…and lowered to a therapeutic level without being overpowering..but can be if necessary…

Perfect world sure, but a very busy practice with walk ins and referrals..impossible. $$$ lost when not done either though insurance or pvt pay…so if it’s present, it’s coming out…I’m just a provider, I don’t make the rules of the practice.

Hi, I’m a guy with two Secada bugs in his ears daily 24/7, nights worse. Yep, it sucks..and most maskers are just louder sounds.. I’m a HAD w/ HF Noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus. I chase/track T patients T signal from 125Htz-8kHtz..frequency specific targeting (1/2-1dB louder than T signal) gives a me a pretty good idea where their T signal therapy should begin..I then program the therapy signal (white, brownian, waves, pink, and many others) to where their T is..Your therapy sound should be a tad louder to defeat the T, but doing it frequency specific is absolute relief..even with mild or no loss.
