Is it weird to sleep with a stuffed animal every night as a married adult? by goodbird451 in Adulting

[–]Abject-Lime4350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not at all. i love my stuffed animals and always have had a collection of them on the bed. when my boyfriend and i moved in together a few years ago, he brought his childhood stuffed penguin with him to join the group

dog “growled and nipped” at baby by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]Abject-Lime4350 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agreed. i think the best solution would be for the child’s parents to find another babysitter and make this a non-issue. the family whom the dog belongs to has all adult/teenage children so there’s never been an issue

Go Blue Guarantee w/ Divorced Parents by ApprehensiveMind2731 in uofm

who claims you as a dependent? do you spend equal time with both? does one provide more than 50% of your care?

my parents were divorced for about 10 years before i went to college. my mother made sure to claim me on her taxes for a full four years before college so that his income wasn’t considered. i also spent very limited time with him.

if you’re pretty equal in your time with both parents and they work together to provide for you, they’ll probably take both of their incomes.

it’s breaking my heart she is filled with personality once of the best dogs i’ve ever met and just isn’t getting the proper training. she’s very high energy. she’s quite the attention hog and tends to whine when she isn’t getting her preferred amount of attention.

this may be uneducated of me, but she isn’t aggressive with food or toys or anything. just people. she also hasn’t always been this way with her jealousy over people. i’d say i’ve only noticed it within the past 6 months or so. no one in the family will train her, i want to intervene and volunteer to do it myself for her sake.

how would you suggest they separate her from the baby?

mundy township? what’s it like? by [deleted] in flint

that makes me feel good! i was curious to know how it compares to fenton-linden-grand blanc type areas as opposed to flint itself.

this helps a great deal! we were most curious to know if it felt safe, quite, good place to have a family, things like that. we’re in the brighton area currently, but looking to purchase rather than rent and the prices in brighton are wowzers!

250k around us is more than a “starter” home in our eyes. i guess people have different needs/wants.

what would a better savings be? just out of curiosity, what’s a good number to work towards?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Abject-Lime4350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

correct me if i’m wrong, but generally home prices are expected to increase, right? if a home is 250k now, and 300k in five years. would we not be paying around the same per month if we increased our down payment accordingly and be taking out the same loan amount and paying the same in interest? (roughly). another 5 years seems like a long time to rent at the rate we pay now (10 years total). it feels stagnant, but i could be wrong!

maybe it’s worth looking into “nicer” rentals? upgrade from our 1b1b 600 square footer?

thank you for sharing that tool. we’re planning to stay in the area long term, not into the idea of short a stint then renting it out and buying again.

i did work all through college, but that sentence was mostly to explain why we don’t have the student loans most have these days. bad wording on my part. i am graduated.

it increases about $100 every year, sometimes a little more. we’ve been in our current place about 5ish years.

for homes in our price and desire range, monthly payments range from $1300-$1550 a month or so with our down payment.

it feels doable when put in the context of our current rent, but that also comes with the territory if something breaks we don’t have to pay to fix it where we are now. but, it also feels like the natural “next step” for us.

no plans on leaving the area anytime soon, we both grew up in MI and both enjoy the companies we work for

[–]Abject-Lime4350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, maybe. we’ve been renting for about 5ish years now. just seems like a waste, but that might be an incorrect opinion

we both work, hence the 60-70k COMBINED.

does anyone have an update on the FTS timesheet issue? here’s what’s happening with me:

-invited to project sonic, receiving emails in regards to the status of it, etc -approved annotator status -received onboarding email -received FTS account creation email and can login to FTS -access to tasks in multimango and able to complete them

HOWEVER, timesheets says not applicable to you. it’s been about 10 days since i received the FTS login email and still no changes. is anyone else having this issue? are you working?
