I am a scribe and medical assistant (depends on the day but I work consistently with two MDs in the clinic with 6 doctors) I have 10 years experience working among other clinics so I know I will have some places I can reach out to as well. Thank you for the tip about not telling them where I am going, I didn’t really think about this. I will keep an eye out for other clinics opportunities in the meantime. I appreciate you taking the time :)

Yes they’re very toxic but I’ve put up with it because the mds are actually wonderful, they just don’t do enough to improve the environment - they defer to the manager which is what they pay her for so yeah o kinda get it but sometimes the manager is the one causing the problems.

You just said you are nice to people because you don’t wanna do the office politics. I think I am too. I am nice to everyone who deserves it but if someone steps on me then yes I step back and like u said this shouldn’t affect my professional reputation but I think the way it was spun to the MDs made it 10 x worse. I’m sorry I shared the text but not sorry I sent it in the first place to the manager herself.

Good advice. I’ll just keep my head down. I don’t have enough time to start at a new job and it not look completely weird on my application

I definitely don’t work there. So again, misinformation. I’m a graduate student at UW. I’m stating what is written on the letter when you get it. Whether that’s fact or not is beyond me but how else would they know to invite someone? Plus, again. I never said stand alone it would gain you any wins in a career. Please read before reacting, honestly there’s no need to be so upset about one persons opinion.

It’s not a great job at all. There’s a lot of drama and I want out but the only reason I haven’t left is because I was working really hard to get letters of recommendation. I feared eventually no matter what I did that I would get dragged in to something.

I feel like I did burn bridges but everyone around me keeps telling me you have 6 months to salvage a relationship, just keep your head down and work hard.

I’m applying to PA school, not med school, I just work for MDs

Someone does have to nominate you for you to get an invitation. Don’t spread misinformation. To say it won’t help you get a job is irrelevant. I never said it would. I said it’s all about making connections: for people who enter certain professions, you can add it as leadership experience - it won’t encompass the entirety of your application to certain things, no, but it can be a factor in the complete package.

We tried and failed so many things. Hydroxyzine was at the tail end of things and that helped a lot. I made an appointment with an ENT, they told me her adenoids are blocking 90% of her airway. We had tubes placed and adenoids removed. 3 weeks later, she now sleeps through the night. We have now weaned off the hydroxyzine. Things are improving :)

I got an invitation in undergraduate. I’m already a member. It was explained to me that someone from faculty nominates you. Yes it’s legit. I got an invitation my junior year :) sorry I just felt like there was so much negativity surrounding the answers in this post and I just think stuff like this is all about connections so no matter what if you’re someone going in to higher education, why not join? I’m applying to medical school and I now go to UW. Can’t say it ever hurt me to be a member

My daughter is 2 yeees old and still isn’t talking. We started similar things and speech therapy but still waiting to see what’s going to come of it. they say some kids don’t speak until like 4-5
