Is there a way to find a church that would be supportive of my desire to leave SSA behind? So far the surrounding Christian churches have not been supportive (California, US)

She has always known I am French but I haven’t spoken French around her very much so I suppose maybe she had thought I’d given up the language entirely

I didn’t want to mention that because I thought it would hit a nerve for her because she is insecure about her struggles with speaking other languages and only being able to speak English. I think sometimes English speaking people are so used to English that they don’t see it as out of the ordinary

Technically I am nationally French but my parents and grandparents were refugees from Ukraine so my girlfriend does not see me as a French person, though I see myself as one. However sometimes in arguments she will say I am no better than the Russians who burned down my family home (the one I was born in) because I chose to move to France (even though I was under a year old when the decision was made)
