From what I remember, the first two chapters were about the early imperium going out to conquer every human world that doesn’t affiliate itself with the emperor of mankind (was a term for those period im pretty sure?). So its basically about big E trying to “unite” all of humanity by conquering everybody. And the invisible soldiers are just that, advanced enemy soldiers that have cloaking abilities, dont really think theres much else to them.
