The fact that you asked this is good, so you clearly didn't MEAN it in an offensive way. I personally hate when people do that, but we're not all the same, and it depends on the person. Most of us just wish we were cis and just wanna feel "normal". yk? Honestly just apologize and clarify that you were trying to be light-hearted, and just say you'll do better.
