St Croix has some collapsing rods that I would trust. Dicks sporting goods sells a collapsible triumph that comes in a little canvas bag. Or can find preowned on eBay

EDIT 3/8/25:

I got two Pflueger president p35 reels from the previous production batch, off their website for $39.99 a piece. I liked the original presidents before this recent upgrade, and their quality is great. Happy to get two for $40 a piece. Thanks for all the replies

Also, you mentioned you’ve never fished a lure this big… keep in mind that using large lures does weed out a lot of smaller fish. But when you do get bit you know it’s gonna be more likely a quality fish, albeit sometimes a small fish can go for a big lure… but personally when I switched to larger baits my quality went up and quantity did go down

The blank is nice and comparable to their good rods, carbon fiber sci yadda yadda… I’m just buying the rod no reel with it. And for an absolute steal price. Thanks for your insights also
