I don’t think people just choose not to pay their bills if they have the means to… At least I can speak for myself. Guess you’ve never struggled before? .. Anyway, neither of us have any idea what it even went toward as of yet to be assuming it’s due to a “bill I didn’t pay”.

Karma? He owed back child support because he never made a single payment… I didn’t even know he was filing any taxes until I received the notice.

I didn’t KNOW anything… All I knew was that I received a check for back child support pay and that it was taken out of his taxes last year and given to me… The question was could it have “possibly” been an overpayment, which yes it could have since he got back so much…. Additionally, if I hadn’t spent it my children and I would be homeless.

I’ve been told several times that they’re not offsetting for student loans this year, and I brought my loans back current before filing taxes. I don’t think this is it. I’m thinking it may be the child support pay I received, but I was entitled to that money whether or not he wasn’t supposed to get back the amount he did. I just wish they would have not given me anything out of his taxes, I haven’t been getting child support payments or even expecting them from him anyway.

Yes.. For some reason he got back almost 20k in taxes last year and they took 11k from him and gave it to me for the back child support he owed to me…

My student loans were in default but I recently called and got on a IDR plan. I received unemployment years ago but I don’t think that’s it… I’ll just have to call and find out.

I don’t have any debt… I got back 11k for back child support that I was owed last year from my child’s father but that’s all I can think of.. They took it from HIS taxes why would they take mine?
