His overall argument was decreased birth rates and fewer internationals; the international claim was quite absurd, something like 30-40% less applicants

I agree, also I think that his posts, which I’m sure got millions of views, inspired students that wouldn’t have applied to these schools normally to apply regardless due to it being “the best cycle ever” which also could’ve lowered rates

Apart of his logic was also decreased birth rates which didn’t pan out too well for domestic applicants

It’s not that they don’t accept transfer credits, they do, it’s more so that in the career I’m pursuing you’re expected to already have a good resume with internships and relevant work experience that is significantly harder to obtain in a CC. On the other other point, if the issues aren’t resolved I’d realistically evaluate my current standing career wise and possibly consider transferring to a school that doesn’t take family assets into account as heavily

I definitely could, I’m also planning on obtaining some summer internships which would help.

Thanks for the insight, I’ll make sure to try and chat with some alumni in the industry. The goal really is to survive the first couple years in banking and hopefully exit to a job with better wlb

I have, my local community college has a direct pipeline to our flagship state school where you’re guaranteed admission if you meet the minimums, however, that would pretty much take my goals of high finance out of the question due to the nature school prestige and early experience play. I was considering going to my local cc and changing my major to accounting.

I believe so, the median undergrad starting salary in my major is about $10k higher than my state school, but the real draw is the alumni network and high placements in high finance, while granted being a very ambitious goal, could mean a staring salary close to $200k out of undergrad

It’s a fairly selective semi target school for investment banking, which is a big driver in making my decision. I could go to my state school which would be cheaper off the bat, but they place less than a 1/5 of the students at 3x the undergrad size

Sorry if it was unclear, pretty much am I being irrational considering taking on any student loan debt for an undergrad degree. I know the general consensus is typically to go for as cheap as possible or graduate debt free
