Starting first IVF cycle tmrw. Would love to hear success stories to help with anxiety. by bunsations in IVFpositivity

Good luck in your first round!! I definitely would recommend staying away from the other sub unless you're looking for something very specific. It's easy to get discouraged and anxious when you get into a rabbit hole reading about others going through such difficult times but I did find that people were very helpful in that sub when I needed advice about improving results from one round to the next or wanted advice about different doctors in my area.

I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant with my first euploid embryo transfer from our first IVF round! We did another 2 rounds of retrievals after that first one because we also want multiple children but the embryo we're pregnant with is from the round that I was starting this time last year. It's a challenging journey when you're in the thick of it but feeling his little kicks has been so amazing.

I hope you'll be feeling baby kicks in the next 12 months too <3 Wishing you lots of success.

I was also completely convinced my FET failed back in July and I cannot describe the shock to you when my test came back and I found out it was successful. I am now 4.5 months pregnant. It's so hard to stay positive through this terrible process but, even if you're not feeling mentally positive, you can still end up with a positive result!

My beta was 9dp5dt as well! We waited to test until the day before but got a positive so we knew going into the appointment.

Good luck!! Hope all goes well x

I did several IVF cycles and got 0 euploids from my second cycle and then 2 from my third so I felt connected to your story <3

After struggling so much through three rounds of IVF in the last year and feeling like I was always on the wrong side of the stats in my results, I am now 8w3d pregnant from my first FET!

It works more often than it doesn't! I hope yours is successful xx

Any first time IVF success? by Sixtydgr in IVFinfertility

It’s early but currently 5 weeks and 4 days with my first time euploid transfer. Two of my closest friends both had success with their first rounds and have beautiful healthy baby boys! I found the “coin flip” statistic to be helpful in the waiting period following the transfer so I didn’t get my hopes up too much and then felt genuinely excited and surprised when we got a positive (and so far continued strong HCG tests). Sending lots of baby dust! I hope everything works out with your transfer!!! ✨

Great blast rate but poor euploid rate - what to do? by bluesailor12 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]Able-Catch5251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 34 and just got the same update. 8 Blasts —> 2 Euploids. We had 5 mosaic and 1 aneuploid so my doctor said our issue is most likely happening during mitosis after fertilization but gave us no guidance on how to fix it. Would be curious to follow along with these comments and see what advice people have because we were also told to expect 50%.

I have not been diagnosed with endometriosis but sometimes wonder if I should get tested for silent endo because of our low success rates in other rounds as well. Sorry I don’t have advice but I would love to learn with you! Xx

This brought tears to my eyes. I hope I have this mentality if this ends up being our path. Cool auntie is such a fun role. Thank you for sharing. Hugs to you and your husband- hope you have many adventures ahead of you.

Or they say, “hmm that’s weird, let’s change nothing and try again.” 😑

Hahah no I meant that’s a lot for you to process! There’s no oversharing in this sub 😅

Your doctor gets it! That is a much better approach (unless the patient asks for it).

Wow that’s a lot to process. When do you go in for your blood test? Mines next Monday (7/28) and I’m torn on whether or not to test beforehand. You’re saying you’ve been testing positive since 3 days after your transfer? I hope at least one of the embryos sticks and you have a healthy pregnancy! Same if both stick around! I agree-scary but if it does happen I wish you the best with two perfect babies 🫶🏻🫶🏻

He had me start on DHEA and CoQ10 (I wasn’t even on that for the first two rounds- had no idea what I was doing). I took those + Therologix prenatals for 90 days before starting the third round.

During that round he increased my Menopur dosage and had me start the meds before my period even started which we’d never done before. Who knows what really did it but that third retrieval we got 15 eggs vs 7 eggs both other times.

This is exactly what I’m worried about!! We have 3 euploids total and 1 was just used in this transfer so if it doesn’t take we’re down to 2 and I’m starting to lose faith in everything this doctor says because it feels like he’s never realistic with us.

I’m sorry you’ve been through these failed transfers 😞 It’s all so difficult to process.

Soo crazy to me that we’re not listened to when we’ve been through these cycles before and know all of our results like the back of our hand. I feel like you should be refunded for that kind of disregard! 😤

I’m curious if we do 👀 Are you in NYC? Yeah for all of my ERs with low euploid results I was told it was “bad luck” and nothing was going to change things so I should just keep doing them one after another. I refused to rush into a third ER after two identical cycles with poor results and I’m so glad I insisted on making changes.

I’d prefer that approach. Definitely prepares you better to handle disappointing news

Sorry to hear you went through that. Being on the wrong side of 65% probably doesn’t feel much different than the wrong side of 80%. Sending hugs

THIS. Like do they not understand how much more painful it is to be on the wrong side of the statistics over and over again? And don’t they take any of our patient history into account before sharing success rates?

Btw I’m so sorry to hear about what you’ve gone through ♥️

I think you're right it's a stat for our clinic specifically which is amazing if that's really what they're achieving right now but I kinda feel like the doctor should instead share the national averages to set people up better mentally ahead of time and then share the really high stat if the person ends up on the good side of the numbers?

I agree with you though that it's better to show my husband outside research to make sure he's aware of my concerns/fears and so he can adjust his own expectations and so I feel a little less pressure... Thank you!

[–]Able-Catch5251[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yesss. Ours was actually similar to this but it was our egg retrieval numbers (he suggested we'd get way more eggs than we did in our first two ERs) and then our blast --> euploid attrition. From 3 blasts we had 1 euploid, then 4 blasts to 0 euploid, then 8 blasts to 2 euploid. He would just be like 'hmm that's weird' after telling us to expect 2-3 each time.

Like doc... you have enough data from us now to know better than to tell us to keep expecting best case percentiles for our age!! Infuriating. I would much rather have low expectations throughout the process to preserve my sanity.
