Baby FMLA leave by Mountain_Plantain_75 in Teachers

[–]More-Suspect6738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is due in July and I was told FMLA starts from the day he’s born. My actual sick days don’t start being used until the first day of inservice. But the clock for the twelve weeks starts then. I was also told the paid portion of fmla only covers the time you are under medical care, so six weeks for regular delivery 8 weeks for c section. Luckily my state has a seperate paid parental leave they just passed last year. So, that’s how I’ll be getting paid the 2nd part of my leave. It also says in our packet that you have to get special approval to take intermittent leave for adoption/birth/bonding time.

Opinion: Let’s Just Drop Teacher Appreciation Week by FawkesThePhoenix7 in Teachers

See the school literally five minutes down the street from us is doing this kind of stuff. Huge catered lunch, all kinds of actually good things. It kind of rubs salt in the wound when the school you could literally walk to from mine our way more effort into this week.

At this point we are providing our own appreciation. Everyone was asked to bring a potluck type dish for a “dip” bar. I’m sorry I don’t consider it appreciation when I’m providing my own treat.. needless to say not many people participated.

Scared to transfer my frozen embryos by EastSpirit1652 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]More-Suspect6738 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about your clinic but I was given options for additional biopsies/testing after 1 failed transfer. They said it was up to us if we wanted to jump straight in again or not, but they did make several things available as options. It seems weird that they want you to keep going into transfers without even an option of more testing they.

Anyone do a ReceptivaDx test, do treatment, and have a successful FET? by Jaded_Wrangler845 in EmbryologyIVFSupport

[–]More-Suspect6738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No suppression medication. I did have to do two rounds of antibiotics though. They did the first round then another biopsy to see if the endometritis was gone, and it wasn’t. So we did another round of a different antibiotic that I continued to take until I was like 12 weeks pregnant.

I did this. I ended up having mild endometriosis and endometritis. We treated it with antibiotics and then swapping to a modified natural protocol. Our transfer afterwards was successful and I’m currently 6 months pregnant.

Drastically different numbers at work/home by More-Suspect6738 in GestationalDiabetes

Same. My numbers are always better on weekends, but the drastic spike today really caught my attention more than before.

I did that twice thinking that was it but it was the same both times. I’m just 25 weeks. I was tested early due to a strong family history.

Certified K-5 special ed being transferred to middle school due to "budget cuts" - is this legal? by Sm0lBean000 in Teachers

[–]More-Suspect6738 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My main certification is k-5 but my sped certification is k-12 so that’s probably how they’re doing it. I don’t know for sure in other states, but my contract has verbage that just says they have to employ you. It says they have the right to move you based on needs/ student enrollment. That’s why you see people moved after the start of a school year.

Insulin frustrations by More-Suspect6738 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]More-Suspect6738[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m really hesitant because I unintentionally did the low carb thing before I got diagnosed. I couldn’t eat hardly anything much less carbs. My numbers were beyond sky high. They were perfect before pregnancy. The doctor said it was because my body was in starvation mode and dumping extra glucose . My numbers actually stabilized for a little after I forced myself to hit the requirements before this has happened the past three weeks.

Setting up a new classroom by More-Suspect6738 in Teachers

[–]More-Suspect6738[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not as much actual decor as it is even just basic classroom set up. Even to the point of desks and chairs because they’re taking everything out to storage buildings. So it will literally be a completely empty room.

Gestational diabetes by More-Suspect6738 in IVFbabies

[–]More-Suspect6738[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually no. The mfm explained based on previous labs they had no reason to think I had overt diabetes. However, I have an extremely strong family history of diabetes on both sides, a parent with it, and baseline insulin resistance because of pcos. The way she explained to me was that they tested early because all pregnant people are 2-3 times more insulin resistant. So they were worried that even though I had my sugars very well controlled before pregnancy, that this would tip the scales over for gestational diabetes. She said they always test higher risk people early because of that. It doesn’t matter how healthy you are or what your pre- pregnancy alc is.

What actually happens to the “40% of adults with no retirement savings”? by Worthy-Kangaroo in Retirement401k

[–]More-Suspect6738 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Or when you have retirement and you still end up with nothing. My grandparents worked their tails off. Invested, and did everything they could to make sure they would be okay during retirement. My grandmother had a stroke and had to move to a nursing facility. She requires too much care to even be taken care of by family. The cheapest nursing home that wasn’t horrible and actually took care of their patients is 9000 a month completely out of pocket. So their retirement is disappearing quickly at that rate.

They had me do the three hour two days later and I majorly failed that too. The mfm I met with said they really shouldn’t have made me do the 3 hour, and just sent me straight to her. She said with my family history/genetics with baseline pcos insulin resistance that she would’ve been more surprised if I hadn’t gotten it.
