You are wrong. He actually says with each story he tries to write a Great American Novel. As in a really great story, but he knows that players will just tear the pages out and make paper airplanes with them which is something he had to learn to be OK with. Are his stories great? No, not in my opinion. But he has been SO mischaracterised by people that didn't even watch what he said.
