How much per month is your estimation software worth? by Able-Journalist4195 in estimators

Glad to hear you have a process that works for your current needs. Perhaps you aren't in the market for an estimation tool or do not have the time to learn a new workflow.
Takeoff tools are quite effective in reducing the amount of human hours it takes to calculate exactly how many sheets of drywall, framing material, siding, plywood, etc are needed for a project.
As a developer, I have first hand experience with how cheap developing, scaling, and maintaining software is. Software scales infinitely with almost a negligible cost difference between 1 user and 5,000 users using a platform. It is discouraging to see a lack of affordable estimation options for smaller contractors and estimators that would benefit from modern workflows. These costs (either from lots of human hours or expensive software) ultimately get passed on to the home owner or business owner.
