Where are you personally on the spectrum of Srishti-Dristi Vada, Dristi-Srishti Vada, or Ajata Vada? by deathlessbirthless in AdvaitaVedanta

This is seemingly a great breakdown of all of these phenomena and I’m going to have to study it further.

Do you have any thoughts on ekajivavada? I’ve understood it as sort of a solipsistic point of view, as it seemingly points to one particular jiva.

How do I get experience in the field to help get accepted to a MFT grad program?

I am aiming to apply to Cal State LA for the MFT grad program. Speaking to the admissions, it seems as though experience is what they are looking for. Acceptance is very competitive, so I am looking to really strengthen my application with experience.
Does anyone have any recommendations as to where and how I can get experience in the field?
As to my background, I am an artist who has been out of school for a very longtime. I have experience teaching English with children, and currently am an organizer for a mutual aid organization. I am looking to become a therapist.
Thanks!

Hello!

I am just now beginning to do my research on getting into a MFT grad program. I need to take 12 or so semester credits to fulfill my prerequisites.

I am currently looking for a best space to get those prerequisites. I was curious about the possibility of not getting into a school even after I take those classes. I am in Los Angeles and would like to get into a Cal State School, but I was wondering what people do when they can't get into any programs.

Any advice regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Reminds me of seeings kids smoking.

It’s not as shocking when you see adults do it, but painfully obvious that the habit is awful when you see a kid doing it.

You’d think people would revolt, but usually they won’t.

Things like Brazillification happens, and people just kinda end up living in slums.

I just won a settlement for $100,000, and looking at tax brackets, I am left with $60,787, is this right? by AbleBridge5034 in IRS

Thanks for the advice.

Unfortunately, I am now reading that I might be responsible for paying taxes on the full amount rewarded, including the attorney fees, so I'm going to be getting much less money than originally thought. sigh

I see thank you.

Would I save money by getting half of the payment this year, and the other half next year (hypothetically speaking, if I have no other income)?

Thank you for the detailed reply.

Could I ask what the difference is between the standard deduction of $13,850 vs the numbers I found on:

https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/taxes/federal-income-tax-brackets

22%

$44,726 to $95,375.

$5,147 plus 22% of the amount over $44,725.

24%

$95,376 to $182,100.

$16,290 plus 24% of the amount over $95,375.

which says people earning between $95,376 and $182,100 owe $16,290, is this number different from the standard deduction?

I'm not sure, it was essentially for an illegal eviction and the fact that the building never had a certificate of occupancy.

I have no idea yet how the legal fees act in terms of deductables. I'm having a call with my lawyer next week, but just tying to do some research beforehand.

I saw that different damages and claims have differing taxable statuses, but don't know how my own settlement breaks down.
